We put one up sometime after Thanksgiving, but not too close to Christmas because we want to enjoy it for as long as possible!
At the request of my FI it goes up after Thanksgiving. I would put it up that day if I knew he would not roll his eyes. But, I have my Christmas candels out and some decorations out. But I cannot wait for the tree!
The family tradition has always been the day after Thanksgiving. I can't wait to do it. It just makes the house so cheerful no matter what is going on.
M and i discussed that I can put them up next week because I have to work on Thanksgiving, but I think we'll end up putting it up next weekend.
There's a long time between Thanksgiving and Christmas for me ;) but I usually start putting things up around the beginning of December.
I usually put mine up between the 1st and 2nd weeks of December. I love the holidays :)
Sorry littlylynx! I forgot that Canadian Thanksgiving is a lot earlier.
Sorry also to all non-american Bees who don't celebrate any thanksgiving! Is there a holiday in your country that people use as a gauge for putting up the Christmas tree?
Growing up we never got a tree until 2 weeks before Christmas. I always felt jipped out of my Christmas tree time! So, as an adult, it goes up within 3 days of Thanksgiving (depending on work/school schedules). I already have wrapped presents to put under the tree this year! Yay!
We usually do it right after Thanksgiving now, but with my family when we got a real tree it was the 1st or 2nd weekend in December.
And my mom is a real grinch, she once took down our xmas tree on christmas day.
We still go up to my parents for the holidays so we don't put up one of our own. Although last year FMIL gave me a ton of antique ornaments from their tree, so maybe we should...
We always put up ours the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I would prefer to wait until after December 1, but my husband likes to put it up right after Thanksgiving. I'll admit, the tradition is growing on me, especially since we're always away a few days before, during and after Christmas.
We will probably put ours up the day after Thanksgiving or the following weekend... NO LATER!! I love christmas time.... so much i considered having a december christmas wedding
Thanksgiving weekend for the tree. But my decorations are out now. I put them out this past weekend. Christmas is just over too quickly and I want to enjoy them.
for my parents, i usually put theirs up for them a week after thanksgiving... for me and my FI, i think "our tradition" will be to put it up the day after thanksgiving. (no later!)
ahem..however this year we put the tree up last week! FI insisted! ( he loves christmas soo much)
I would do it the day after Halloween if FI wasn't so ridiculous about it. He is barely ok with my doing it a few days after Thanksgiving. I send out my Christmas cards the first week of December, so the tree better be up by then (but I have to get all of his 'projects' out of my formal livingroom to get a tree up so we'll see how that goes).

I generally wait til the day after Thanksgiving, but I think I might cave this year and put it up early.. I can't help myself! I love Christmas!
Maybe I'm just getting crotchety -- but it seems like I've seen more Christmas stuff this year pre-Thanksgiving than ever before. I drove by a house in my neighborhood last night that had a GIANT tree in their living room window -- we're still a week out from turkey day!
I used to put mine up the day/weekend after Thanksgiving, but the boy's family tradition was to put it up after/around his birthday -- December 4th. So I guess I can wait a week or two this year :)
Usually right after thanksgiving! We just have a tiny little wee one (like tabletop!)
Sometime between Christmas and Thanksgiving but it depends on we get around to it kinda. My parents always go with my brothers family and they get them at the same time so it also depends on my brothers work schedule and what shift he is on
I am not a fan of Christmas being celebrated after Halloween...Don't get me wrong. I LOVE Christmas but I don't like how all of these holidays get mixed all into one, Thanksgiving kinda gets forgotten between the two, and I feel like by celebrating Christmas for months in advance takes away from the real meaning behind the holiday.
I've seen a few up in our neighboorhood already, but we'll be putting ours up once we get back from Thanksgiving travels. I won't be going home for Christmas this year, so my parents have put their tree up early- we'll celebrate Thanksgiving on Thursday and Christmas on Saturday.

I walked out of our house the day after halloween and saw that our neighbors had just put up their Christmas tree (it's in the front bay window of their house). I know she is pregnant and could have the baby any day now so I figured that she wanted to get the tree up before the baby arrived. Then I realized that maybe they just like putting it up early.
I think this year we will wait until after we have hubby's family over for Chanukkah, that way we will have some separation of the two holidays. I don't know what we'll do when they overlap!
