I’m just wondering, when/why do we Bees decide to reply to a post? I notice sometimes a post will only get a single response and other times, a post will generate 50 plus replies. I’m just wondering, when and why do you click “reply”?
*My poll might be biased if this isn’t the kind of post that some people typically respond to 😉

I just reply to any post that I can relate to, know how to help etc

I didn’t vote in the poll bc there are really too many factors. Obviously, I post a lot so I’m not TOO discriminating when it comes to responses. In general I post anytime I have something to say. I’m more likely to post if it is something I’m particularly interested in, if it only has a few posts (if there are 4 pages of responses I kind of feel like… whats the point), if I “know” the bee who posted it, or if there is a poll. I don’t generally reply to posts that ask opinions to things that are linked to. If someone wants an opinion I appreciate them posting pictures rather than sending me off to 4 different websites.

Okay, I think I voted for just about every choice in the poll. And that’s not helping anyone.
I post when there are few replies because I like helping out other posters.
I post when I know something on the subject and/or have something to say.

I realized once I made it that my poll might not be terribly helpful in itsef, but I thought having all those options would help to generate a conversation with the bees. I really wanted to make this thread to get us talking about why we post (or don’t). I figure this might help out some of the bees who really seem to struggle to get replies.
I’m always about helping the underdog so I try to reply to post with one or two or no replies, which often slip to the second or third page. I think its hard sometimes when the topics get repeated so often. I find myself typing the same response on three separate threads on three days in a row.
Also, some topics are just way more popular than others. For instance, showing off dresses (which I love btw) easily gets 20 plus responses. But topics like music, books, etc don’t seem to generate many replies. In my opinion etiquette and emotional questions are probably two of the hottest topics on the boards.

Like Corgi, I usually don’t reply if I have to click on a link to see what they’re talking about, or even if people don’t embed their pics and just have the files linked at the bottom of the post. I am too lazy to click over somewhere else.
I basically just comment when I have something to say. I don’t always have anything valuable to contribute.
I also don’t read every post that I see. I skip over a lot of them that aren’t relevant to me (local boards that aren’t MY local board, baby boards, waiting boards, etc.)
I don’t click any external links in posts, so I usually don’t post on any of those. Other than that, I don’t know that I have a posting tendency.
I post for a lot of reasons.
I post on decor and design because I love decor and design.
I will post on emotional issues if I think I can give some sound advice.
I post on rings and dresses that I find beautiful.
And I will post on things that I want to know more about, happen to know a lot about or think should be bumped up for someone else to see/ comment on.

I usually only respond if I can relate to the post. I like to read local boards and wedding related. Those are the posts I tend to comment on the most. Lately I’ve been getting really into the recap boards. I love seeing how everything comes together. I like posting on those, too.

IDK, I post whenever I feel like it. There are about 5 bees that I like and I usually read what they have to say, I don’t respond to all their posts though.
