New Years Day! My mom always said it was bad luck for the year if you took them down earlier.

Usually the first weekend after New Years Day. I love to have my house look like Christmas 🙂

I took mine down yesterday. I usually would wait until after the 1st, but this is my weekend off and next weekend I’m working, so yesterday it was (It’s Sunday here in NZ). I love Christmas, but it was really nice to get my house back. It’s been decorated since mid-November, so six weeks is enough, I reckon. 🙂

i like to leave my stuff up until january 6 (3 kings day), but we don’t always make it. last year our tree was so dried out and sad looking that i took it down a few days earlier.

I leave it up for Christmas Day on the 7th.  It makes me sad that many places have their stuff down before then.  Frown

our tree will come down next week. we’re leaving on vacation, and it needs to come down before we leave (we have a real tree, and we don’t want to leave it up while we’re all gone). the rest of the decorations will stay up until mid-january, then we’ll transition into the winter themed ones.

I typically leave stuff up until at least jan 6 but this year with a little one arriving any day now, I chose to take decorations down the day after Christmas just to have one less thing to worry about after she’s born
