I basically only take it off when I’m making dinner, or taking a shower. For lack of anything better, I keep a soy sauce dish on the kitchen windowsill to put it in when I’m cooking, and I leave it on a shelf in my bathroom when I shower. both places make me really uncomfortable, I’d love a beautiful ornate ring holder, but I’m not sure that’s much better.
So bees, what do you do with your rings when you take them off?

Mine is on a glass ring holder (mine is pink)… I don’t wear it to shower/wash dishes either or to bed!

I pretty much take it off as soon as I get home. My ring has pave diamonds on the band and I know that those can fall out over time, so I don’t want to accidentally hit my ring and knock one out!
After my fiancé proposed, he gave me the ring box so that’s where I put it whenever I’m not wearing it. I also have a ring box at my fiancé’s house and I put it in there whenever we’re cooking or I need to wash dishes. It’s nothing fancy but it works!

I take mine off and put it in the ring box when I shower, but otherwise I never take it off.

I only take my ring off to shower and put on lotion. I wear it to wash my hands, do chores, sleep, etc. I have a ring holder to keep it safe while I shower. I got my ring holder at Bed Bath and Beyond for less than $10… I have the giraffe, but I love the elephant as well!

I take mine off when i am cooking, showering and sleeping. There is only 2 places i will keep it. 1) My jewelry box 2) On a hook in the kitchen (if im in the kitchen). I always know where my ring is or a least where to look for it 🙂

I pretty much only take it off to shower. . . and I leave it on my nightstand. I really need to get a ring holder!

My fiance and I went to Claire’s (don’t laugh, we really did) to find a jewelry holder that could be hung in the kitchen. I trained myself to ALWAYS put it on a hook whenever I’m cleaning, cooking, showering, running, putting on lotion etc. Doing so *really* cuts down on the need to get it polished and cleaned so often. It was cheap, my future last name is Evans ergo the E and it’s kind of a cute focal point in our home 🙂

I take mine off to sleep, shower, and do dishes and I put it back in the ring box. I just bought a neckace on Etsy that has a little clasp on it so that if I’m away from home and need to take it off, I can put it on the necklace.

- Wedding: August 2013 - The Liberty House
I take it off sometimes when I sleep, most of the time when I shower, and sometimes when I work out. I also take it off when I’m doing something messy or using abrasive chemicals. I have three ring holders around the house: one by my kitchen sink, one in the bathroom, and one on my bedside table

I never take my rings off.
In my previous marriage I wore my rings almost constantly for 25 years and nothing ever damaged them. This included swimming in pools and ocean, cooking, showering – you name it. I never lost a stone.
I clean my new wedding set regularly (almost daily) with windex and a soft child’s toothbrush. Sometimes I put them in an ultrasonic cleaner.
Ask any jeweler – the easiest way to lose a ring is to take it off. Rings are made to be worn all the time unless you have a metal other than gold, platinum or palladium. Diamonds and other stones with a Moh’s rating of 8 or 9 can withstand daily wear easily. Gold will get scratched but that’s easily polished.

I take it off for sleeping, showering, and if I’m making something messy like meatloaf or kneading dough. It either goes on my FI’s finger (usually when I’m cooking) or back in it’s box. Most of the time if it’s not on my finger, it’s in the box.

I rarely take my ring off, but when I do I put it back in its box, and it stays in one place.
