I haven't worn my ering in awhile, but I always wear my wedding band.  I never ever take it off except when I'm kickboxing.

What about you -- when do you take off your ring(s)?

I take mine off all the time!  When I sleep, shower, do dishes, etc.  I just hate getting it dirty and its unconfortable to sleep in!  I'm suprised I haven't lost it!

Ditto kitten. I take mine off before I sleep, when I clean or do dishes, when I shower, when I lotion etc. DH bought me a suede lined box to put my rings to keep them safe whenever they aren't on my finger.

Not married yet, so I just have my e-ring, but I wear it all the time--to bed, in the shower. I take it off to wash my dog or to clean the bathroom or kitchen, but that's pretty much it. When I do take it off, it goes right in its box and then right back on my finger when I'm done. I feel naked without it!

I take mine off when I do dishes or shower.  That's about it.

Only e-ring at this point, which I take off when I shower, do really dirty dishes, aka scrubbing pots and pans with chemicals, not just rinsing off cup or something, usually I take it off before I go to bed as well, but not always. I love my ring, I don't ever want to be without it.

I only have an engagement ring.  I take it off for showers, cleaning, and during the use of hairspray, where it sits in a really pretty box.

just the e-ring for now... i take mine off when i shower or go to bed. i actually don't even wear it around the house unless we have company over which is rare too. so basically i just wear it when we're out and about. it took a while for me to even get used to it so i left it at home a lot for the first couple of months.

did anyone else have that problem???

I take my ering off to shower and lotion. Even though its not loose, I am constantly afraid it will go down the drain in the shower!! I am not a jewelry wearer, so it felt so weird when I first got it. Now I feel naked without it!

Miss Texas- I've left home w/o my ring once and I felt so weird I turned around and went home to get it :)

Does everyone have their ring insured? Being an insurance adjuster, I strongly suggest that to anyone who doesn't.

I only have my engagement ring as of now, and I almost never take mine off!!  Only to clean it or to put lotion on (and I dont even always do that) ... my jeweler said as long as I bring it in twice a year to get it cleaned (free of charge!) it should last a lifetime, even if I wear it constantly! Sometimes I twist it if it's getting caught on things, but I dont take it off.

I take off my e-ring when I shower, do dishes, or anything that requires soap/detergent and water. I have this fear that either my ring will slip off or one of the diamonds will fall off. That actually happened to my friend. How scary is that!?

I only have my e-ring, and the first month I took it off whenever I did anything!  I was a counselor at a camp for kids and was terrified I would lose it.  Now, like several others, I don't take it off unless I am cleaning or putting on lotion. FI doesn't like that I take it off at all; he purchased extra insurance so that anything that happened to it would be covered as long as I never miss my set check dates.  I'm less stressed about something happening now!

when i first got engaged (a little over a year ago) i took it off for everything--dishes, shower, etc.--but now i pretty much never take it off. my fiance really hates when i take it off (so i'm a little clumsy and forgetful), so i told him i wouldn't take it off anymore. it's had a tough life already!

I take it off when I shower, do dishes, put on lotion, and if I'm using weights at the gym I will will either take if off then or wear work-out gloves.  My hubby does the same with his.

I take mine off to sleep, shower, garden, clean, and sometimes when I'm cooking. I also take it off when I'm biking (afraid I'll crash and smoosh it on my finger) and snowboarding (afraid I won't feel it fall off because my hands get so cold). I'll be able to wear my wedding ring more because it is more practical (no stones and less detail to get dirt trapped). I think that when we travel after we get married, I will probably only bring my wedding ring because I spend too much time worrying that I'm going to loose my e-ring.

I wear it to bed, but I take if off when I shower, or when it could get smushed, scratched, or really dirty. Or, if my hands swell, and then I just wear my wedding band.

I take them off to shower and apply lotion (for the latter, I put them in my mouth!). Mr Breezy takes his off when he gets home. He's only forgotten to put it on in the morning once (so far...).

Not having any rings from any males, I take off the one I bought for myself at work (working in disability, dont want it to get scratched or dirty) and put it on a chain around my neck. Also, in the shower, but goes right back on after!

I take my ering off when i'm cooking (and have to get my hands dirty - like mixing food with my hands) or cleaning with bleach detergents. Other than that, i always keep it on and am very careful. The setting gets caught a lot... so i'm always worried i may lose a stone in the micro pave setting!

Anytime the rings could go down a drain they come off.

I don't tend to wear e-ring to the gym but I do leave my wedding band on for that.

Oh geez, I think I take mine off all the time! I barely wear my e-ring now... especially since it's cold out and it always gets caught when wearing mittens or gloves. I also take of my wedding band when I'm cooking, cleaning, showering, sleeping, and putting lotion on. And sometimes on the weekend, if I don't leave the house... it doesn't even make it on my finger!

@ Miss Texas: I empathize! The 1 year anniversary of our engagement was a couple of days ago, and I *still* haven't gotten used to wearing it.

Like Miss Kitten and others, I take mine off all of the time! Part of the problem is that the cold weather makes my fingers shrink so much that my ring will fall right off if I move the wrong way, so I take it off if I'm at home and my hands are super cold. It fits fine when they're normal temperature, though, so I don't know what to do about the size.

I love my e-ring, but honestly I'm looking forward to transitioning into wearing just the band once we're married. So much more practical for me!

I take them both off at night (I'm afriad of scratching myself and DH, plus its a little uncomfortable when my fingers swell at night).  Other than that I wear them all the time, even when doing dishes, which is probably a bad idea.  I'm just deathly afriad of them going down the garbage disposal!

I don't have my wedding band yet (though we did just pick it out! whoo hoo!), but I wear my engagement ring 24/7. I feel so weird when I don't have it on. Plus I freak out and worry about losing it. I don't even like to take it off to have it cleaned by the jeweler, but I do... :-/

I used to take it off all of the time - but once it got resized to fit properly, it's on 24/7 (minus the bathroom cleaning and lotioning ;) I imagine I'll just wear the wedding band after the wedding since I'll have to put on/pull off gloves a lot for work.

I take my e-ring off when I shower, clean, wash my hands, lotion, and lift weights.  (and I also put my ring in my mouth...I nearly lost my class ring in a bathroom once.  Never plan on having that happen again.)

It doesn't feel right when it's off anymore.  It's like something is missing!

Mine are off while I'm in the shower, sleeping, doing dishes or other semi-strenuous household duties.

And, as Mrs. Sea Breeze also pointed out...always when putting on lotion. =)  Don't want to get any nitty gritty under those pretty gems!

I wear mine all the time. The only time I take it off is when I'm cooking and it would get food stuck in it (like making meatballs), putting on lotion, and cleaning that involves harsh chemicals. I feel naked without it!

Only times I'd take it off are when I apply lotion, or when I am working with meat or dough (like hamburger, if I'm mixing it up for meatballs... or if I'm kneading bread dough or something sticky).

I take mine off when I shower and wait to put it back on till I've put on lotion. Also when I lift weights. I also take it off when I go into the ocean as I am so scared I'll get knocked really hard by a wave and it will slide off (like my designer sunglasses did once and were never to be seen from again!)

I *very* rarely take my e-ring off.  I'm klutzy, so I am totally paranoid that I'd take it off somewhere and lose it.  The only times I've taken it off so far have been to clean it, when cooking with ground meat (like making burgers) or cleaning with bleach.  And if it's off, I put it into its original box, so I always know where it is.  I think I've taken it off less than 10 times since I got it last April.

i'm like marquisemiss - when i'm putting on lotion or working with meat is really the only time i take them off (i don't bake, so i haven't worked with dough in years!). Nothing grosser than a little bit of ground turkey stuck under that lovely diamond!

mr. luna takes his ring off to shower and that's pretty much it.

my stepmom takes her rings off pretty much everytime she cooks and gives them to my dad to wear on his pinky ring - i think it's cute :)
