@emelee:  You may start seeinga line around 9-10 DPO but the best lines start around 12 DPO and get better at 14+ DPO.

There used to be a website that posted all kinds of tests and days from 8 DPO onward to give you an idea of when to start testing.

I usually start POAS at 10 DPO then every 2 days after that until AF shows.

I started at 10dpo. BFN. At 11 dpo in the evening I got a super squinter, and then at 3:45am 12dpo I got my blazing BFP (with an FRER) .

I was a POAS addict, I started around DPO 9-10 even though it was unlikely. To avoid heartache, I recommend training yourself to start testing at the day AF is due.

Countdowntopregnancy.com has tools and calculators for this as long as you know your O date!

I only tested if I missed a period… by a lot. Most recently, I tested at 18DPO because I wanted to know for sure, and at 18 dpo (if you’re charting and know you’re 18 dpo) there’s little wiggle room. I was definitely pregnant. Yes, I realize I tested “late.” I had had normal spotting and thought the blood would start flowing… but then the spotting stopped, and the blood never came.

@emelee:  I waited until 3 days after my period was expected. I was not TTC, though.
