I take my ring off to clean, wash dishes, bathe, and to cook. It normally stays off once I take it off when I get home for whatever reason, so I rarely sleep in it. Am I the only one that takes it off like this? I always put it back in it's box (beside my bed), so that I know where it is.

Do you take yours off ? If so, when? Where do you put it?

I take it off when I shower, wash dishes, or am working with raw meat with my hands in cooking.

Otherwise it's always on. I sleep in it too.

When I take it off in the kitchen, i put it on the far side of the counter away from the sink. When I shower, I put it on my vanity next to my jewelry box and put it back on first thing after getting out.

@KatNYC2011: I got so used to taking off my E-ring for these things, that I kept up the tradition with my wedding band too.

I take my ring off to shower, clean, swim and some cooking.  I tried wearing it in the shower once and since my ring is sort of loose, I was paranoid it would go down the drain the entire time!  Never again!

I don't really take mine off much.  If I make something really messy (meatloaf, bread dough) I will, but that's about it.

I do clean my rings a lot and probably wouldn't have to do so quite as often if I wasn't exposing them to everything, but I hate taking them off.  I just love to look down and see them there.

@Brianalaura: I know...i am so freaked out about them going down the drains too.

@Neva: I get mine cleaned everytime I am in the mall, even though I take it off quite a bit, lol

@PrncssDva: I take mine off while doing all of those things too.  I also usually take it off at the gym or when I go for a run.  My e ring is kind of loose and I am paranoid about it falling off.   I have found myself wearing just my wedding band sometimes, since it fits more securely.  I will work out with my wedding band on, but not my e ring.

My DH takes it off when hes goes to sleep and puts it on when he gets up.  I don't know if he showers with it or not.

Yeah, I take it off when I work with ground meat for meatballs or meatloaf and I take it off when I get it cleaned when I'm at the mall.  I'm afraid that I'll forget to put it back on if I take it off often.  That or I'm afraid I'll lose it.

I take my rings off after I wash my hands when I get home.  They stay safe in my jewelry box.  I also never wear them to the gym, or when I am just running out for a quick errand.

I take mine off to sleep and don't put it back on until I'm getting ready to walk out the door again. That way it isn't going into the shower, or getting hairspray, makeup, lotion, etc on it. I also take it off when I'm cooking, baking, washing dishes, etc. Basically the only time it gets wet is when I wash my hands.

Still, it's not off as much as it sounds. I put it on in the morning before I leave for work and usually don't take it off again until I'm going to bed. (Mr. Lox does most of our cooking.) On the weekend if we don't go out one day though, I could go all day without ever putting it back on.

I take my rings off as soon as I get home. Rings bother me, I hate that they get tangled in my hair and stuck on things, and just overall I don't always like the feel of rings on my fingers...haha. So yeah I wear them at work and out but when I'm home, they are usually safely in their box.

I usually don't wear my rings unless I leave the house.  We insured them, but I don't like getting them dirty.  I also clean them every day.  If I only had a solid metal band and no diamonds on my engagement ring, I might wear them more often, but I find it's easier to just leave them off for the most part when I am at home.

Well, I was very warned how delicate it is (not diamond) and I do lots of housework dishes, cooking cleaning and at work I work with children so its quite messy with arts and crafts, and cooking with them and wiping poopy butts. I also don't wear it sleeping or showering, so I never remember to put it on when I'm not doing any of that.

On top of that I swear my finger has a 5 size range and since its winter my hands are so thin and dry that I can wear it on my thumb!  So I'm scared it'll just slip off.

I read the post title, looked down at my hand and realized my rings were still in my pocket from taking them off to make dinner earlier, that was like an hour ago. Whoops. I take my rings off all the time. I'm always putting them on, taking them off. I take them off to make meals, if I'm doing a deep clean, when I shower, when I sleep... Most of the time I don't put them on until I leave the house really. I love them and I don't find them uncomfortable, I just don't want to damage them in anyway, so they spend a lot of time in my pocket waiting to be slipped back on.

Also one follow up, when I am out of the house, I NEVER take them off.  Not to wash my hands, nothing.  I don't want them going down a drain.

@Mrs. Louboutin: But my jewelry box is so far away... I only do it in the house anyways, I don't take them off when I'm just out and about. I put them in my jewelry box every night though, I promise :)

My wedding ring is fairly plain so I wear it all the time unless I'm bleaching something.  For my ering I only wear it when I go out or once in awhile at home.

Whenever I'm home, my rings come off and stay off. The second I leave my apartment, I put at least one ring on and it stays put until I get back home.

Um...I don't wear it.  Neither does Hubs; we're watch people.  Disneyland gives you the gift of matching bracelet watches (Can't buy this model - only given to the couples that marry there), so we wear these in lieu of our rings.  But I get that we're rather unconventional.

I put mine on as part of getting ready in the morning, but then I take it off when I get home and go to the gym, make dinner, clean, etc.  I never shower in it or sleep in it, but I don't take it off to wash my hands during the day.  Basically, if I'm out and about (except the gym), it's on, but if I'm home, it's in my jewelry box.

Mine comes off ALL the time.

When I get to work, they come off and sit on my desk. I work in a small office and theft is not an issue.

When I get home, they come off and go in the jewelry box from the jeweler. DH puts his in his little box.

I suppose we need a little box that both our rings can go in - but I haven't found one yet.

I basically only wear them when I go out in public; never to workout, cook, shower, sleep, etc.

I am so afraid of damaging my engagement ring, I take it off for just about everything I do that involves my hands.  Let's see, cooking, house cleaning, swimming (for sure, I heard of people losing their rings in the ocean), working out at the gym.  I think I only leave my ring on at work since I am only typing on the computer most of the time.

I used to never take it off except to clean dishes but then I would put it back on right away.

Now I take it off to do dishes, put on lotion, clean cat litter, if its bothering me, doing other chores....then once its off I dont put it back on until I go to work the next morning. Some weekends I wont end up wearing it for 2 days straight because Im just hanging around the house or running errands! I keep it on my ring holder on my windowsill in the kitchen

I only take it off when I'm home. Mostly, it's a little too big so I'm afraid I will lose it. I have a bowl I put it in everytime so if I ever put it somewhere else I automatically start freaking out lol! Other than that I take it off when washing my hands and applying lotion.

I haven't taken mine off yet, but it's only been a few weeks! That could change. I've noticed that it gets in my way in the shower (if I'm washing my hair) and while I'm putting lotion on. It's so ornate that lotion gets in all the crooks and crannies. But so far I've been able to keep it pretty clean. I thought I would take it off when I go to sleep but have found it's comfortable staying on. I've heard so many stories about losing rings that I'm scared to take it off!
