Will there be a cocktail hour? If so, are you planning to go to it?
it completely depends- are you doing a first look? how many photos do you want? do you have a big wedding party? do you have a big family? do you care about "getting ready" shots? you should talk to your photographer about your options and how long she estimates it will take
@futuremrsmp: Well I dont think I will be having one since most of my family doesnt drink, BUT my FI's family does (and I do occasionally). I guess "cocktial hour" doesnt have to mean only alcohol. I was thinking about having a couple of signature drinks so maybe a cocktail hour would be a good time for our guests to enjoy them...
we are in the same situation as you and doing everything in one place. we are doing all the formal pgotos before hand with the entire bridal party and then when they are changing the room over, we'll do some photos with the extended family.
@Mrs. Meowerson: Im still debating on whether I want the "first look" moment. I think it would be sweet, but I dont think FI wants to see me before the ceremony starts...
I want alot of photos. Im not a picture person but if Im "dolled up" then I become a supermodel all of a sudden!! lol
I have a moderate sized family. I am an only child, so is my mom. On my dads side I have only 1 aunt and 1 uncle...but I have a good number of cousins (from my great aunts and so on). My FH on the other hand...its almost like the royal freakin family. There are so many aunts, uncles, cousins!! lol
As for my bridal party, it is very small (i think). I only have 4 BMs and he only has 4 GMs. There wont be too many other bridal party members tho..
if you want a lot of photos, i would try and take as many as possible before the ceremony. if you don't do a first look, you will of course have to take your couple and entire wedding photos and family photos after the ceremony, which means you will definitely need that cocktail hour (which you are debating in your other thread). again, though, your photographer will be the best source of info for this.

My ceremony and reception are in the same location. When is a good time to take pictures? I was thinking of the bridesmaid and I taking pics together BEFORE the wedding (same with the groom and groomsmen). Then after the ceremony the entire bridal party take pics together. I just dont know if thats going to hold up the transition into the reception. What do you think?
