I am getting married on Oct 31 in Seattle. My family lives in So Cal and my FH’s family lives in Nor Cal.  I am having a shower at home in So Cal July 11th and then I am having my second shower in Nor Cal Aug 15th.

What about having your shower in October?

Nah – – you set the rules..Are you having one shower or two?  What about having a shower with all your friends and bm’s during the summer or have your Bach party during the summer then have a shower in Oct?

I am getting married in August & we just had our showers in May, to get them out of the way.

Well technically other people are supposed to be throwing showers for you, so it’s not up to you when you have any showers.  Wink

Two different people are throwing showers for me and asked for a list of ladies to invite, and I purposely made sure that everyone was only invited to one shower (otherwise it would be kind of weird and seem greedy) with the exception of FI’s and my moms of course.  Both of my showers are taking place after the invitations to the wedding are sent out, and about a month before the actual wedding.

Usually the showers are 2-3 months before the wedding but you can have it whenever youd like.  I did my shower the end of April for my June wedding, my SIL did her shower in August for her October wedding.  Talk to the people planning your shower and figure out a date that will work for everyone and the people you want to attend and go from there.  Just be careful with the holidays, I think October or early November would be a good time for your shower, late November and December are too close to holidays and depending on when and where, some people might not be able to attend because of other commitments.

You and I are date twins and my cousins/BM’s are throwing me a bridal tea on October 24th! I’m really looking forward to it 🙂 They chose October for the same reasons you mentioned, wanting to avoid all the holidays!

I may have my shower Oct. 30 because that is the only weekend that I have available other than Thanksgiving and Christmas (and of course New Years lol).

I believe that most of mine will be around the October time frame as well. But my earliest one is in 3 weeks!! But that is with my FI family who are from out of town and I am going to them.

I am doing my bachelorette party in October and then shower in November. My family chose that way because we are going to New York for the bachelorette party and November for the shower so people will have a break between the two.

Jan 2011 bride here!  My shower is in October and the bachelorette part is in January.  I was in the same boat and didn’t want the shower in November or December and January was too late.
