(Closed) when is the right time?

If its a wedding with alot of travelers then around 9-12 months is accepable. I think the shortest amount of time I’ve heard of is 6 months. I would suggest 8-10 for a wedding with travelers and 6-8 for a wedding with closer guests.

I agree.  You want to give people traveling a heads up so they can start saving. 8 months seems to be good for traveling family and for local family.

I usually tell my brides 6-8 months in advance is fine for save the dates unless most of your guests are out of town or it is a destination wedding.  If that is the case, some people send them out as far as a year in advance.  

Do what works best for you in this case ~ there are no hard etiquette guidelines when it comes to save the dates.
