Please help me on this. It might seem silly but I cnt stop worrying about it. The bakery where I ordered my cake asked me when I want the cake delievered. My reception starts at 6pm. They said the latest they can deliver it is around 3pm. But someone has to be there to sign for it. Everyone will be at the ceremony by that time. They can also deliver the cake in the morning and put it in the fridge of the reception location but then someone has to carry it from the kitchen all across the room and place it on the cake stand. I dont know if this is a silly thing But I’d much rather have the cake experts place it on the stand. I feel like someone else might drop it or there might be an accident with it. Should I have it delievered in the morning or afternoon

Personally, my friends/family will be picking up my cupcakes and cake and bringing it to the ceremony location.
Where are you having the reception? There won’t be ANYONE at the reception location early that will be setting up, etc., If there is, I would have any of them sign for it and have the cake people set it up at that time.

Ours was delivered at 3 which was for our 7:30 reception. It was delivered by the bakery and placed on the table by the bakery.

Assuming you have a venue with waitstaff and a coordinator or set up manager, they are probably used to this.
Have the cake delivered no later than 3 – earlier if your florist will be decorating it. It will be fine left out for a few hours and they will be the ones setting it up.
If the cake stand belongs to your venue, jsut let them know what time the cake will be delivered.
Avoid having it stored in the cooler there if at all possible – too many people in and out and unless it’s whipped cream, just doesn’t need that much refrigeration.

there will be no wait staff or coordinator. Just the caterer and she may not be there as early as three since the reception doesnt start till 6pm.. Its a red velvet cake with chocolate fugde icing so I guess i cant leave it out from morning till 6pm. I guess my best bet is to arrange for someone to be there by 3pm to receive it… I just dont know who that will be since everyone will be at the wedding ceremony by then
