What date are you giving for your RSVP date? Just curious! I feel like there are many things I cannot accomplish until I get the RSVPs back, such as order favors or know how many table linens to rent, etc.... When are u mailing invites?

I was thinking the end of September I will mail them out due to the fact that I can't accomplish things without RSVPs. Before I was thinking October 1st. Still not sure when to set RSVPs by. I feel like I need it earlier due to my wedding being one week before xmas! I think stuff will get stuck in holiday mail, including ordering my favors if you aren't careful!

Basically this is my plan. I'm sending STD's out around this October just so everyone can mark our date on the calender. Then early next June, or actual formal Invites will be sent out, and our RSVP date is July 16th...our Wedding is August 13th. This gives people enough time to RSVP before and after the date (I don't want that but it'll probably will)

I'd say give the due date a month after the invitess are sent out and a month before the wedding. Good luck! :)

I am mailing out my invites the week after Christmas to avoid the christmas mail.  We are giving people 3-4 weeks to rsvp.  I want to know over a month out.  I have a friend though that had the date 2 weeks before the wedding.

I think I will send them on Oct 1st or Oct 4th (exactly 2 months out), and the rsvp date is Nov. 8th.  Our reception venue doesn't need an exact number until the week before, but Nov 8th gives us a few weeks to at least do all the tables and place cards.  I'm not doing favors, but if I were you, I'd just order the favors earlier regardless of the rsvp date and just order on the high side.

I am having the same problem.  We finished our invitations this weekend and our RSVP date is November 1st and I am not sure when to mail them out!

Our venue needs the final number by Nov 11 which is why ours is the first.  I figured that would give us time to track down any that don't come in.

@chibride1204: I probably can't order favors or linen rentals, etc. until I get the RSVPs back, because I really cannot guess who is coming or not. I need some sort of estimate...and at this point I have no idea!

I think the standard etiquette is to mail wedding invitations 8-12 weeks before the wedding. I'm also December 18- our invites are going out the first week of October. For whatever reason, my mother made the RSVP date November 30!!!! That first week in December is going to SUCK trying to do 250 table seatings.

@winterwedding10: We are aiming for first week of October too, but i am hoping maybe a week or so earlier....I kind of want to do A list, B list invites...... not sure when to set the RSVP deadline though!

My wedding date is December 31, 2010.

Sending them out on Oct 1st due to it also being a holiday and would like people to have plenty of notice and to make sure people can secure accommodations if they wish.

My respond by date is Dec 1, but they only thing I need to finalize with the final count is to make sure I have enough food.

I will not be doing assigned seating or table numbers.
