- Wedding: March 2013
I know that many brides have had to change their plans for the wedding day at the last minute, so I really shouldn’t be complaining that my plans are changing 4 months before my wedding. Yet I am highly annoyed right now.
Our church has a policy that in order to married there you have to take the premarital weekend seminar that is only offered every 3 months. This means that they wont even put your wedding date on the church calendar until you have completed the premarital weekend, then once you have completed the seminar then the minister that is marrying you can give the church wedding coordinator to place your wedding on the church calendar.
We were engaged before the last premarital weekend, but it happened to fall on the weekend of the 1 year anniversary of my fiance’s father’s death and he didn’t want to do anything that weekend so he wouldn’t let us register for that session.
Well just found out that the wedding chapel has not been booked for the time that we scheduled our wedding. We have paid for our reception to start according to our plans and now we have to either push the ceremony back 2 hours and shorten our reception by one hour(even though we still have to pay for 4 hours)…or we can just have the ceremony at the reception hall which is what we were considering doing to begin with.
I hate last minute changes. I’m glad I didn’t send out the save the dates that I was getting ready to pay for over the weekend.
Have you other bees had to make last minute changed like this? If so how did you solve the problem?
