Is it bad to “shop around?”
I have a dress in mind that a few shops carry, and I’m wondering if it’s okay to compare prices and benefits of each shop when I go looking around for the best place to buy my dress… As in “why should I buy it from you?” kind of thing. I’m not usually a haggler, but I’m wondering why I would choose one shop over another but for the service and the cost, right?
… or should I just buy it from the closest shop?

Most definately shop around. You might be able to find the dress at a shop at a better price.

If you have the time, why not?

I agree with PP. You want to get the most for your money, which isn’t just the lowest price. You want to make sure that their level of customer service is what you expect as well. I went with a salon that was a little more expensive ($40) but it is about 30 minutes closer and gives more personalized attention.
