We got Mr. Cardy's from Express and I can't say enough good things about them. They're not too expensive, but they're a really great quality! I love 'em!
Hit up the Nordstrom Men's Sale! I think its in January. They are the best. You can pick up an $800 suit for $4-500. My DH actually did buy a suit from them that he needed for the next night, true story. We walked in at 8:30, they closed at 9, and we picked up his suit THE NEXT DAY. Altered, for free.
We got ours from Mens Warehouse (which I was surprised at the diff options they had!) But, we looked at Macy's, Dillards, etc. Big & Tall has them as well. Suits should be done, I'd say, about 2 months before the wedding (just in case anything needs to be ordered if they don't have his size). If you have groomsmen, you may want to start much, much earlier. (because men are procrastinators lol lol )
OMG! FI just got his at Macy's yesterday. He got it on sale sale sale (and macy's always sends offers in the mail to cardholders). We looked at the receipt when he got home, and he saved 400 dollars! we got the suit for 369 dollars and includes a vest, pants, and the jacket. Macy's has a whole section of "slim fit" suits, which I think look and fit the best.
Our wedding is in 4.5 months. I don't think it matters WHEN you do it, as long as you have it. I would recommend BEFORE 1 week prior to the wedding though...
Ooh great ideas ladies! FI loves Express so I didn't even realize this was an option, they are so reasonably priced! I'll be sure to check all of this out thanks so much :)
My husband got his suit about 2 months before our wedding at Macy's and it was a TOmmy Hilfiger suit for about $350. Also, Joseph A Bank has good suits and good deals on suits all the time
Oh Joseph A Bank is great for suits. We are getting the tuxedos for the wedding at a local tuxedo shop, but for suits I would recommend JosABank.
My husband, his bestman, my brother, dad, and father in law all got their suits from Macy's for our wedding. lol

I know he's probably thinking he can go the week before and just go buy a suit and get it altered, but I'm the type that would prefer this to be out of the way like now. He wants to invest in a nice suit for himself instead of renting, so I know that can take a while to find... now that we're down to the 6 month mark I'm starting to think about everything all at once and freaking out!
Also if anyone has any recommendations for a great place to get a suit besides Men's Wearhouse I'd love to hear. Not against them or anything but I want to let FI know he's got options.
