generally every other day is a good idea because it lets your DHs sperm regenerate so you get stronger swimmers. 18, 20, 22 and 24 is good, you can even do the odd numbers and be fine (17, 19, 21, 23). And whenever the mood hits doesn’t hurt either 😉 GL!

Are you doing anything to track your cycles other than just going by your period start date?  Like using OPKs, paying attention to cervical mucous?  I just noticed that your app indicates cycle day 14 as your ovulation date, which if you’re just going by averages isn’t necessarily accurate.  Charting your basal body temperature is the only way to actually confirm when you ovulate, but there are other things you can do to have a more accurate idea of when you are fertile.

In terms of when to BD, from what I understand every other day is only recommended if there are any concerns about your DH’s sperm quality/quantity.  If that’s not a concern, every day is ideal if you can manage it.  But either way, don’t get too worried about your BFN – well-timed sex doesn’t guarantee a BFP (healthy couples can take up to a year to conceive, and I think the average with perfectly timed BDing is 3 months).  I hope you get a BFP this month, but it doesn’t mean anything bad if it takes a few months.

yellow7404:  At the very least use opks. Also, another lady here suggested the SMEP plan to me and I’m trying it this cycle. We did what you’re doing at first but after months and months of TTC (it took 8 cycles to get my firat bfp) you get weary. Here is the link to the SMEP plan http://spermmeetseggplan.com

How is this ap determining your ovulation date? That’s really the most important thing related to conceiving. If it’s just taking an “average” of women who have a cycle length like yours then that’s not at all reliable enough to time BD on in order to conceive. For instance I had a 28-29 day cycle, so you would assume I ovulated around CD 13 or 14. But due to charting my temperatures, I realized I actually ovulated closer to day 17 or 18.

Once you figure that out, and phoebephoebo:‘s suggestions of OPKs may even be easier than charting temperatures, every day BD is totally fine unless your partner has known sperm issues – and usually recommended O-5, O-4, O-3, O-2, O-1, and O or some pattern within there. After you ovulate is usually too late.

Don’t worry about one cycle of BFN…there are so many issues that making getting pregnant not quite as easy as you would assume! And try to enjoy it :).

yellow7404:  If you’re concerned about the medication, see if your DH can talk to his doctor about it.  One thing I’ll point out is that “can cause lower sperm count” doesn’t mean that’s necessarily happening with him.  But perhaps there’s another medication he can be switched to while you’re TTC that doesn’t have those possible effects (if your DH explains that you’re TTC, the doctor should be able to help find an alternative if it really is a major concern).

I would just BD every day when you know you are ovulating.  I’m not sure about this every other day method. DH and I just BD every day during my fertile days and it worked for us.

My doctor said whether you BD every day or every other day, your odds of conceiving are the same. Your DH’s sperm will need to replenish, which is why a lot of health care officials say just to do it every other day.

I used http://www.ovuline.com to track my period and my O days and DH and I got pregnant on the first try!!! From my due date, it looks like we conceived on my CD11 (My cycles were irregular since I’d just gotten off of birth control, averaging every 25-27 days, so I was O’ing early)
