Did you get your ring at a store that offers an extended care plan? Mine covers unlimited sizing forever, all I had to do was buy the plan about the time he bought the ring (I got it a month later).

I worked in Jewelry for 9 years, so I have a few ideas for you.

As for when to get it sized, don’t wait two years, it may slide off your finger before then. Size it after you’ve lost what you plan on losing, in the meantime, go to your jeweler (or another, depending on where he got it) and ask for a ring guard.

There are a lot of different kinds, but ask if they have one that won’t damage your ring. You can get a temporary one, but which is more likely to scratch the ring. There are at least two types of temporary ring guards.

There are also permanent ring guards (which are actually removable by a jeweler when you’re ready to size it). there are several types.

1. Horseshoe Guard: Looks like a little horseshoe soldered onto the base and it’s flexible, meaning it holds onto your finger.

2. Balls: They put on two or three balls inside the shank of your ring to take up more room without altering the shape of the ring. I think this one is uncomfortable, but I had alot of customers who loved it.

Good Luck!
