32 weeks to 38 weeks is normal for baby showers it all depends on if you are flying home for one (most airlines restrict flying during pregnancy at 36 weeks…)

Whenever you have it, make sure you have enough time to finish shopping for whatever you didn’t receive afterwards 🙂 One of my currently pregnant friends is having some complications with her pregnancy and will likely deliver early, so I’ say before 36 weeks to be on the safe side.

Mine is scheduled for when I am 29 weeks. It’s a bit early but my Mom is going in for surgery and it may be a 6 week recovery. I think 35 weeks might be a bit late for me personally because you’d want to have time to wash clothes or organize gifts plus finish up your shopping and there’s always a chance baby comes early. But I like to be overly prepared lol

We just had my sister’s shower today and she is 36 weeks. My MIL and sister are planning my shower for April 21 which will put me at 34 weeks. It all depends on what you would prefer really.

Can your grandma plan from afar and throw the party the week she gets back? I’m having mine unusually early …due June 24th but my mom, mil and sister only had 2 weekends that worked for all their schedules. So my shower is April 13th or 14th. Im happy because that will give us time after to shop for anything we didn’t get, clean it all, and put final touches on eveything with my husbands busy work schedule.

@Bichon Frise:  you should be ok to have the shower then, you just might be uncomfortable. My mom wanted the shower in the beginning of June and i argued that i will be huge and uncomfortable and it will be hot out. If you start feeling miserable I would limit the time for the party, maybe instead of 3 hours more like an hour and a half? But you should be ok. 🙂

I’m due in June, and having my shower mid-March. It may seem a bit early, but the date was chosen based on my MIL’s availability since she can rarely get time off, and I am actually happy to have it earlier so that I will have plenty of time afterwards to get the things from my registry that I don’t receive elsewhere – there are some nice consignment sales in April so I am happy I will have had my shower by then. There is no perfect time, just whenever feels right for you 🙂

I will be 35 weeks at my shower.

The shower is April 6, I am due May 12. I wanted to have the shower in March but my MIL, who is hosting, is busy every weekend in March so I don’t have much of a choice.

I was 34 +2 and it was fine. You want to be big at your shower!  I’d say anything up to 36 weeks is good. That gives you a month to wash and organize and a vey slim chance of going into labor before that since you aren’t full term.

@Bichon Frise:  if you have the baby early (before the baby shower) you can always bring the guest of honor to the baby shower, or have a “sip and see” after the baby is here. So that way people get to see the baby. I’ve had 2 cases of that happened in my life. HS best friend had her son 4 weeks early before the baby shower and a distant cousin had that happen too.

@Bichon Frise:  I think having it when your grandmother gets back is a good time to have it. And it still leaves time to get what you need if you don’t get it at the shower.
