Hi ladies, so I’m getting married dec 7th this year. I brought my dress back in feb. I weighed 198lbs. I’m now down to 163 (as of this morning). I planning on being a maximum of 145 by my wedding day (hoping to achieve that before I start school back). My REAL goal is 130 on my wedding day.
When should I start alterations? I’m sure I’m gonna have to have it taken in, but it is a laceup.
I’m hoping 145 by aug 26 and 130 by halloween. That way all I have to do is maintain all november and for the rest of my life lol. I dont wanna worry bout losing weight a month before my wedding. But wouldn’t the first week of november be a little late to have my first fitting with my wedding the first saturday in december?
I’m doing this very healthy-ly. No diet pills or starvation. Just a lot of exercise and clean eating.

I was told 6-8 weeks for my first fitting. So you’re probably cutting it close, but I wouldn’t do it any later than the first few days of Nov just to make sure they have enough time to get it done.

I went to my first fitting 8 weeks out, my next one 5 weeks out, and my final will be 2 weeks out

Thanks ladies! I’m thinking if I do it mid october, I’ll just have them bring it in a little tight and since it’s a laceup I should be ok. If anything I’ll just work harder to take off the weight a little quicker. =)

I like your mid-October plan. I ended up getting a new dress so didn’t even have the dress until 1 month before. Alterations went well but it was stressful having all those fittings the week before the wedding, etc. I would do it sooner and if you need some minor taking in it shouldn’t be a problem to get that done closer to the wedding date. The lace-up back will really help too!
