I’m hoping that some of you that have taken Clomid/had IUI’s done can help me here. Background, DH and I have been TTC for over a year. Finally visited an RE and are in the process of our first treatment cycle that was supposed to include Clomid CD 3-7, an HCG trigger shot, and an IUI. I took the Clomid as instructed and have an appointment for an ultrasound tomorow morning (which will be CD 12), I was told I will possibly get a trigger shot as well and we will make an appointment for the IUI based on what they see on the ultrasound. However, I got a positive digital OPK today. I’m worried that I’ll ovulate sometime tonight/early tomorrow and we’ll miss good timing for the IUI. I called the RE’s office this morning and the nurse said to just BD today, but that I shouldn’t be ovulating so early on Clomid. Now I’m just confused AND worried. Blah!
For anyone that has taken Clomid when did you typically ovulate? Did anyone ovulate before their trigger/IUI?

If you got a positive OPK, it does mean that you’re gearing up to ovulate. There’s not much you can really do, especially if you’ve already got an U/S appointment tomorrow. If it looks like you’re already there, you might just skip the trigger & head straight to the IUI – but they’ll let you know tomorrow.
Everyone responds differently to Clomid. Some ovulate early; some ovulate later. *IF* it worked, I always ovulated at CD20, or around there. This past time, I didn’t ovulate at all.

This is my second cycle on Clomid and I am have gotten positive OPKs on CD 11 both months. For me Clomid has made me O later which has been a good thing since I was getting positive OPKs on CD 9 before. Good luck!

I O’d between 13 and 14 each month on clomid – which was earlier than normal for me. I was monitored on 12 too I believe. I worried each month about ovulating and “missing” it for iui but it was always fine. Good luck!

Thank you guys for the info! I had not in fact ovulated before my appointment today and everything was good to go for the IUI tomorrow.
@Mrs Green Grass: thank you for the reassurance! I’m glad to know someone else worried about the same thing. It’s hard for me to just relax and let it be at this point.
@Mrs.Jaguar: I pop in every now and then to read what’s going on in the 6 months and up thread and just wanted to say I’m rooting for you!!
