We sent our invites out 7.5 weeks prior.   We made our RSVP date 3 weeks prior.   It depends on when your caterer needs the information.

Your RSVPs should be due back one week before you need the final guest count.  (For example, if your caterer wants a final head count by 9-30, then have your RSVPs due by 9-23.)  That way you have time to call those who didn't respond before your numbers are due to your vendors.

Your invitations should be sent out one month before the RSVPs are due back.  If you have a destination wedding, make that two months.

Im sending my invites out 8 weeks before with an RSVP date of 4 weeks before the wedding. Sounds like I will need at least a week to track down the people who don't RSVP in time and my counts are due 10 days before.

We sent out our invitations 10 weeks beforehand and our RSVP date is 5 weeks beforehand. We did this because all of our guests are traveling for the wedding and because we might end up sending a second round of invitations if we are below our numbers in the first round (which I highly doubt will happen!!) This is going to be good for us because we will have a very good idea of who is coming and how many people well before our wedding!

Hey I'm a 10.10.10 Bride too!  We are inviting a lot of people in other countries and parts of the US so I'm aiming to get mine out by Aug 1 with a rsvp date of Sept. 3, then we have a "2nd string" (we are hoping to invite more friends if other relatives far away can't make it.)  I have 35 additional rsvp cards with a date of Sept 23.  Does that make sense?

Generally invites go out 6-8 weeks before the wedding. If you have a ton of out of town guests, you may want to send them out 8-10 weeks before the wedding.

Your RSVP date will depend on when your caterer needs a final head count. My caterer needs a final head count 10 days before the wedding so our RSVP date is a month before the wedding. I think this will allow for us to track done any people who did not respond.
