My wedding is December 6th. We are sending ours out this week. I also follow a checklist on the knot.com I think im a tad behind, but not too bad.

I had quite a few OOT guests and I sent them out in early July for a September wedding. Unless OOT means in another country people will still get mail in a few days.  I would do it about 2 months before your date. When is the final count needed for your venue/caterer? That’s what is important. You need to give time for people to get the invites, respond, mail them back, chase down those that dont respond, and then get your final count together.

i would send them late october/early november, but it also kinda depends when your rsvp deadline is and when you need to submit final numbers to your venue.

i sent my invites in early july for my mid-september wedding. my rsvp date was mid/late august. i had to give my final numbers a week or two before the wedding.

Honestly, with your wedding being right at the holidays and new year AND mostly out of town guests, as people generally schedule time off NOW, I would send them out ASAP!

KatyKat:  I’d send them now since people are traveling.  Mine is January 17 and I’d love to have them in the mail by the end of October if not right on the 17th (3 months out)

I just sent mine for Jan 17th 2015 as it’s such a busy time of year for many people and I have quite a few OOT guests

General rule is to give them 5 weeks from when they get the invite to the RSVP date. The RSVP date should be about 2-3 weeks before your wedding date.

So, since yours is literally right at the holidays, I would add a few weeks to that. People may already have holiday plans. I would say say mid-end of oct. People will get them by the end of oct and have 1.5 month to decide (by mid dec?)
