When I used microdermabraison, I always applied it on after my shower at night. Onlu because I dont want to do it in the morning and then just put makeup right over it for work. Anywho, just make sure you don't do it more than once a week!! It can be pretty harsh on your skin if you do it more than once.
@ Wendy - I purchased these services from a local spa, so can't do it at home and right now only have one session purchased...I definitely wouldn't do it more than once a week or I'd be broke!
Do you think I should schedule it soon and she how my face reacts to it and then do it again closer to the wedding? Do you normally get these types of treatments done a on a regular basis?
I have had a few microderm treatments. I love the way it makes my face feel. I would recommend getting the treatment in advance of your wedding incase you are sensitive to it. I've had friends that have broken out really bad after receiving a treatment. their skin is too sensitive for it. If you love it, I would recommend having additional treatments before the wedding. In order to save money, I have been using the origins microderm kit. Several bees have posted about it in the past.
No advise on the second treatment. I have never heard of it before. Also, call the spa. They will be the best at answering your questions since it is their business. Good luck!

Sorry I forgot to check back here
YES! Def do it in advance. I'll admit even though you feel instant results the first time you do it, you wont get the full result until after around 4-6 treatments. The first time you do it, your skin will feel SOOOOOOOO soft and smooth. Bascially it's sloughing off all the dead skin on your face...kind of like sanding it down. However, if you do it too often it can irritate your skin. Everyone's skin will be different. Some people do it only once a month, some do it every two weeks and some once a week.
And to be honest, you could have saved yourself a LOT of money by just purchasing one from your beauty store. They are just as effective.
i would definitely recommend going to get it done now, see how your skin reacts to it, if it works good for you, i would say get 6 treatments done before your wedding for the BEST results, one every 10 days...however just one treatment will help, and i would do that about 3 days before your wedding, if you cant do 6 treatments of micro, i would recommend a peel like glycolic they are much cheaper and give a great glow and essentially do the same thing, remove the dead skin and a layer of the skin to give you a fresher softer glow. ask the esthetician who is doing your micro what she thinks, however she may just try to sell you the microderm packages, because that is more money, but peels do the same thing and are cheaper.
Thank you so much ladies, I think I'm going to schedule one for the week before my makeup trial (in two weeks) and then if I like it I'll schedule one the week of the wedding and maybe do the Origins product in between :)
i just went to a dermatologist to get a "wedding plan" and they were having a microderm special, so i got it. its a set of 5 and they recommend you do it every 2-3 weeks. i had it done that day and skin felt nice. wasn't red or anything and i went to the mall right after. i'm hoping it will get rid of some sun damage etc.

Yay Groupon!
Last week the daily groupon was a microdermabrasion and Oxytrio - Ultra II treatment for 66% off! I snagged one up thinking I could use it before the wedding to help my face...
Now I'm not sure when I should use it. I'm also wondering if this is something I should do a few times before the wedding (I've heard 2-3 microdermabrasions will produce a noticable affect). Something you should know: I've never had a facial or peel of any kind.
So, here is my question for you bees: When should I use these and should I purchase more?
FYI, here is what the Oxytrio is (I had to look it up on their website!):
Oxy Trio - Ultra II - This 3-step antioxidant therapy corrects and prevents free radical damage, which is one of the more significant contributors to the aging process. It stimulates respiration and circulation within the skin. It rejuvenates sluggish skin, stressed skin. Acneic conditions and smokers also benefit greatly. Followed with Ultra II treatment giving the skin a smoother, brighter appearance while promoting cell turnover and collagen and elastin production.
