my family and i are catering my wedding due to budget restraints. my cousin is also making my cake using fondant. here is the issue, i dont know when to set the cake up in its proper place in the reception hall. my family of couse dont wanna miss the ceremony so every single thing has to be set up and out BEFORE the cermony even begins. (we are paying a teen $20 to watch over the food)
im worried about the fondant. should they put the cake together and set it out before or should the cake come out at the last minute? like right before it is cut last minute?
or should it be set out during cocktail hour. our cocktail "hour" is actually only 30-45 mins long. Heaven forbids something happens to my cake during the set-up at the very last minute and we cant replace it. Or the fondant melts while we are all at the ceremony gazebo.
Am i thinking about the to hard? Or is this a real issue?
