We weren’t very picky about that so my mom ended up getting hers at Macys (she said she didn’t want to look matronly). any way we ended buying it this summer when it was on sale and I am not gettin married until 2015. I personally would wait until about 8-10 months out but we needed the sale and it was the only one she liked

After I had tried on my dress [and ordered it], in august, my mom tried on some MOB dresses.

She only found one she likes and we are still looking.

My bridal salon warned that Mom dresses can sometimes take longer than BM dresses. Nevertheless, my mom wasn’t a fan of typical Mom dresses (seriously, they’re all either super sexy or super matronly…) , so we plan on going to Macy’s, etc. We have just started looking.

Depends on the designer that the bridal shop is ordering from.I would say buy the dress about 4-5 months in advance.Delivery might take about 3 months and leave a little extra time for alterations.

@Bri1o:  Nope, don’t feel rushed, we have plenty of time.

And, there’s always JCP or macy’s if she can’t order one from the bridal shop.

My mom hasn’t started looking yet and probably won’t for a few more months. If worse comes to worse we’ll just go to the mall and find something.
