Yay, I'm so glad it worked out for you guys :) I'm a firm believer in everything happening for a reason (no matter how crummy it is!)
that's fantastic news! i lost my job 2 weeks after we got engaged. i thought we'd have to postpone. i was able to find my dress, interview vendors, etc on my own time which was fantastic! after all the vendors were lined up, i landed a new job (stroke of luck!) so it all worked out!
That's awesome!!! I say on a lot of my posts ... stop sulking and just go with it b/c in the end everything works out for the better!!
yay!! so happy things worked out for you! i always tell people, "when times are good, live in the present and enjoy the moment!" and, "when times are bad, look forward to the great things to come..........because, in the end, they always do. life's a series of ups and downs."
Woo hoo! So glad that it was not only ok, but even better in the end. YEAH!
I'm so glad that it's actually easier for more guests and not just easier for your mom! That must be such a relief. Sometimes it can be so hard to remind ourselves that things will turn out okay -- if not better! Life is full of these moments, in retrospect.
Yay! So glad things worked out so well for you. I'm a Friday bride as well! Congrats and enjoy the week with your mom!
Yay! =) I'm glad that things worked out so well for you guys.
Yay!
I wrote about that moment becoming a blessing in my reception venue post!!
Oh Congratulatios. I am so glad it all worked out for you and your family.
I'm so glad that this stressful moment ended up being a blessing in disguise! We also had a crisis that changed our wedding day for the better. We were supposed to be married in a church--they took our deposit and booked our date. Several months later, they cancelled on us and we were left with no place to get married. My husband came up with the idea to get married at our reception venue (which we loved). A friend/coworker offered to officiate for us and helped us design a ceremony that refelcted us. It was really special to have our wedding at a place we loved and an officiant who was really awesome!

So I was moaning and complaining to ya'll a couple of days ago how my mother wanted C and I to change our wedding date and I was obsessing over the loss of our deposit, and quite honestly, I was being all sulky. But you all had kind words and made me feel better
.
But today I mosied on over to the venue and was able to reschedule our wedding by a week. The venue was willing to do this if I booked a Friday, which was more expensive, but still, I took it, happily because we got to put our deposit towards it! YAY! My parents are graciously paying for the difference in cost so double yay.
So, this thing that nearly caused me to have a mini-panic became a fab blessing! My mom will be able to come down a relax with me the whole week before the wedding, I won't have to listen to any more gripes about our wedding being on a Thursday night, and the BESTEST thing is.... the new wedding date works out even better for the rest of <span style="text-decoration: underline;">both families! So now we have a lot more of our guestlist going to RSVP "yes!" I'm so happy this all worked out!
So, did you ever have a wedding crisis blossom into a blessing? Or had to come up with some alternate plan that worked better than the original? Let's hear 'em!
