I was on the phone with my dad last night, chit-chatting about how fun it's going to be to get out to the camp and go fishing this summer, how super awesome it is that he's getting to go overseas to Iceland with my mom this summer and yada yada yada.
My mom has been pretty flighty about the whole wedding thing (the exact opposite of how she was with my big sisters wedding) and it's been bumming me out a bit.
So when my dad & I got on the topic of the wedding I was being a bit evasive, not really wanting to get into it and he says
"Look sweetheart, this is a big deal. Play your cards in a way that make you two happy and we'll make it work - my boss isn't going to be happy about me taking more time off right after I get back from holidays, but that's too bad, it's not every day your daughter gets married."
I seriously started to tear up, because I was beginning to wonder if my parents would even make it. I <3 my dad!
Anyone else have a good moment with their family after some bumpy patches?
