    Wait a month or two. I received gifts after the wedding.

    I agree, wait a bit.  Also, for BB&B at least, the completion coupon isn’t mailed out for at least a few months after the wedding.

    We were still getting gifts off our registry a few months after our wedding, so I’d wait.

    If you have a Macy’s registry, wait until they offer 20% off.  It cycles through every 3 months or so.  I didn’t receive any gifts after the wedding, so I started buying the rest pretty much right away…but only on sale!  Oh and I waited for the gift card with my cash back reward too which took at least 3 months.

    We bought within a month of the wedding so that we could take advantage of the registry completion discounts at Target and Macy’s.

    I think it depends on your registry. Some registries only give you discounts for 3 months after your wedding. If they are really good deals and you have the money, I would go ahead and buy them. But if your registry and discounts lasts longer than that I would wait. I’m not sure what we’re going to do. We have most of the things we need already, so our registry has mostly upgrades on it… we may not complete anything after our wedding.
