@dream_angel: Welcome! Well I am getting married in 2014 so I haven’t started dress shopping, yet, but I know for sure that many dresses take 6-8 months to arrive and then you need to calculate how long fittings, and second fittings, and final fittings take. I would tell the bridal consultant how much weight you are planning on losing so that she can order the proper size for you. I would start shopping right away if I were you. That way you can go to a few appointments and salons if you don’t find “the dress” right away. Congratulations and good luck!

@dream_angel:  Oh, I forgot to mention, though that sample dresses and I believe trunk shows are sold right off the hanger so you would take home what you try on so then all you would need to worry about is fitting appointments. 🙂

I bought my dress about 2 months before the wedding. Honestly, it was so easy for me. I really don’t understand why women stress out so much over bridal dresses.

@dream_angel:  I don’t think so. That way you HAVE to lose the weight you want to. Puts on the pressure and makes it real!

Most designers say their dresses take 4-6 months to come in. You also want to account another 2 months for alterations. You can rush order sometimes if you have to.
