I did my make-up trial very early, 10 months out, only because I wanted to do a trial to make sure I liked the girl before I booked her. She wanted a trial before booking as well.
For my hair, I booked my girl already, and plan on doing my trial maybe 2 months before (I wanted to have my veil for that). Also, I am much less worried about hair than make-up so I am ok with waiting a few months before!
Thanks! yeah I'm thinking about going at meeting the stylist (who is a friend of a friend) and seeing some of her hair styles.
I'm just looking for a basic down, curly hairstyle so I'm pretty confident that a girl that comes highly recommended will be able to deliver =)
I did my trial about 8 months out, only because the good and decent priced ones gets booked quick here. And in case I didn't like it, I'd have to look for someone else.
I did mine about a month out - of course, the trial was useless because what she did was nothing like I asked for so we're going to try something a little different on wedding day (fingers crossed! The stylist was so nice I feel I need to give her a second chance)
I'd say a month out if sufficient if you know you like the stylist. If you're trying someone new, maybe give yourself an extra month or two... just in case...
I'm going to do my trial literally a year before the wedding because I want it to be the complexion I'm most likely to have on my wedding day. Also, I'm moving cross country at just under a year out, so I want to do it before we move!
I have my girl booked already and am pretty tempted to do it... i paid $50 for the trial already... I only booked bc we were supposed to get married in Mar.but pushed it back. I know my makeup taste wont change. I want something very wintery and glamorous! :) Do what you feel comfy with! The good ones do get booked fast! I called one hair stylist that is already booked allll next yr pretty much and on my date which is a Thurs.

Hello Bees!
I know i've got some serious time before my wedding, but I'm curious what the norm is for when to start doing trials?
I'm pretty sure I already have a stylist (friend of a family friend).
I'm thinking i'm going to go and get my hair cut by her, just so i can meet her prior to doing all of the wedding stuff.
What do you ladies recommend? Obviously I'll do makeup and hair the same day, but how far out from the wedding did you go in?
Thanks!
