lcowher:  You’ll get a mix. We had a chunk people RSVP within a week of receiving the invitation. Then another half or so trickled in over the next month and a bit. We then had another smaller chunk RSVP right around the due date and about 10-15% or so that we had to chase up after the due date had passed. You’ll always have to chase some people unfortunately. Some people as well said to me that they wrote on their calendar to contact me on the actual RSVP due date. Even though they knew they were attending well before that. I don’t get it – if you know you are coming why leave it to the last minute – it’s a deadline, not the only date you can RSVP, lol.

We had about 100 ppl not RSVP, I contacted most of them and they said “oh, you know we’re coming” which I didn’t because they didn’t RSVP lol I would expect to get some in within the whole next month then contact people after.

I had around 50% send it back immediately. Then it was a long waiting game for the rest! One or two would trickle in each week. Then in the few days before the deadline there was another big batch that came in. We gave people a few extra days, and we got one or two late ones. The rest we had to call – probably around 10%.

I had a similar experience to what’s already been mentioned here, a lot right away were returned and then just a few each week. The last week we got a few more. I had about 10 people not return their RSVP cards. Some later called to RSVP. I also had 4 people RSVP who were no shows at the wedding.

lcowher:  It will be a total mix. Some people will send it back right away. Some will trickle in between your sent date and your RSVP date. Some people just won’t respond and you’ll have to track those down. Our due date was June 5, and we just got some this week (thanks, people!). The most frustrating part is people just simply not responding.

We had family members say, “I didnt think I had to respond, you know I’m coming” and bridal party members say the same thing. We had food options on ours too, which made it even more frustrating – they KNEW they had to pick something!

did you put a date for them to RSVP by?  i’d expect it by then at the latest, i’m giving myself an extra week before vendors need the final count so i can call & email the stragglers.

lcowher:  Our RSVP date is your wedding date! We just sent out invitations last week and so far I have had about 18/70 people respond, which doesn’t seem like much. 2 were straight out No’s due to distance. My friends who are married said the RSVPs really came in a mixture, and they got the majority of responses about 1-3 weeks before the RSVP date. I am hoping we hear sooner rather than later!

lcowher:  My no shows were two cousins (my aunt and uncle came…guess they just didn’t feel the need to tell me their kids were not coming anymore) and then my Mothers friend and her boyfriend – though both her daughters (my childhood friends) were there. She let me know two days before the wedding that she wasn’t sure if she would come or not. It was very vague.

lcowher:  day twins! i think you can expect a majority to come in right before July 18. When are your final counts due?

We got a ton of people right away, and then a ton of people right around the deadline (many late, and many we had to end up calling).  Not too many in the middle though.
