This question occurred to me after reading a different post. I am getting my bridesmaids jewelry and flip lops along with some smelly stuff from B&BW. I’ve been debating telling my BMs I am getting their jewelry and flip flops so they don’t buy jewelry specifically for the wedding day and bc when we went shopping they were all discussing bring flats to change into for the reception. So, is there an occasion that I can gift them before the rehearsal dinner?

Hey there fellow Texan! I would say that a lot of brides gift their girls during the bridal shower because they’re already thanking them for throwing a party for them, so you can consider that. I think for most people, you can always keep somethings a secret, and others revealed. For example, you can tell them about the jewelry so they don’t go out and buy them, and hold on to the flip flops, since even if they do bring flats, they don’t have to wear them if they have the flip flops! Anyway, I got my bridal party several gifts, so that’s what I’m doing to avoid any overlap. Good luck!

I think the bridal shower or bachelorette party may be a good time. Otherwise you can just mention to not buy those things.

I’m gifting all my ladies during the bridal luncheon (hosted by me) a few days before the rehearsal dinner.

I’m not having a bridal shower since its not custom to do so here. I’m thinking of maybe giving it to them at the bachlorette party, but then I’m going to feel bad that the other girls would be left out…

i gave my girls their gifts at the rehearsal, because it wasn’t something they were wearing, but i would’ve given them their gifts at the bachelorette party, or at our mani/pedi appointments two days before the wedding otherwise.

Since we’re having a small DW, FI and I plan to take a Sunday drive before we go, and meet with each recipient. Less to carry on the plane that way!
