i think usually they happen sometime in the 4-2 months before time, but I don’t think it really matters.  I’m getting married in september and i’m having one in april that my Maid/Matron of Honor is throwing and a second one back in my hometown in june that my aunts are hosting

My mom looked it up in her etiquette book and it said ideally 2-3 months before the wedding, but in odd circumstances it can be any time!

Mine will be exactly a month before our wedding!

I think that they would both be around the same time (and really shouldn’t have the same people invited to both since you don’t want them thinking they have to get you another gift).

I’m thinking of having mine about 3 mo out. Our wedding is in late Feb and my Maid/Matron of Honor is not local, so we’re talking about the sunday after thanksgiving. 🙂

I am planning my sister’s for about 2 months out. I have also helped plan one that was held 2 days before the wedding for a friend of mine. This was b/c all of their family was from out of town and they didn’t want people to make 2 trips.

We’re probaby doing mine about 4-5 months before the wedding.  My family is scattered all over the country and that’s when the most people would be able to come!  I think it’s totally up to you and your hostess.  As long as you’re registered and someone is willing to throw you a shower, I say have it whenever 🙂

Mine is this weekend, and is 3 months out.  It’s essentially planned around my sister’s break from law school.  Otherwise I would have waited for nicer weather!  And combined it with my bachelorette.

Mine will be 2 months before the wedding.  One of my bridesmaids is pregnant (due 20 days before the wedding) and she lives out of town.  We decided to hold her baby shower and my wedding shower on the same weekend so she only has make the 4 hour drive once (and not too close to her due date).
