(Closed) When to light the tapers for the unity candle?

How about, “Would [Name] and [Name] please join us?  As representatives of the bride and groom’s family, they will each light the tapers that represent Kate and Chris as individuals.  This symbolizes the love and support that their families have offered them to help them grow and become the people you see before you today.”

I’d be less concerned about them burning out and more concerned about them blowing out – have you considered perhaps using a hurrican glass to protect them?  I’ve never seen a successful unity candle outside.

I really like Gilneas wording too!

That is a good idea using the trick candle wick. Where did you find that? At a craft store?
