I went when FI picked out the tuxes, he wanted my opinion.  I would ask your FI =)

My friend that works at Men’s Warehouse said they can put in their orders up to two weeks before the wedding.  After that 2 week count down there would be an additional charge for rush shipping.  I’m making sure all of our guys have their orders in well in advance though.

If you do something like Men’s Wearhouse – the guys that are moving can use whatever Men’s Wearhouse is local to them at the time they are ordered. For instance, my brother is out in California (I’m East Coast) and he just went into a local Men’s Wearhouse out there and had his fitting and placed his order.

Men’s Wearhouse will put all the information into their system so that no matter what location they go into…the staff can look up exactly what they have to order (type of suit, color, shirt, bow tie or cravat, vest, etc.). So go with your FI to a Men’s Wearhouse, pick the package that you want (they range from $75-$300 for a full tux and accessories), and put all the info into the system.

They also have a really helpful online tool that shows you who has and hasn’t been fitted so that you can track down the GM’s that still need to get their act together! My wedding is in October and we requested they all have their measurements taken by May. We still have one guy (The Best Man!!) that hasn’t done it but he has plenty of time. Getting it done early just ensures no one has to deal with rush fees and the specific suit and style you wanted is reserved on that date.
