The shop I got my dress from recommended I buy my veil 4 months in advance since it’s handmade. That being said, I know of other places that make their own veils and can turn them around in 2 days. That freaks me out a bit though.

I would wait to order your veil so that you can make sure color is going to match your dress.  You have over a month, there are a few places on line that can ship your order in 2 to 6 days and they send you free color swatches to make sure the color your order your veil in will match your dress.  Good luck!

I’m having my veil made and my dress isn’t scheduled to arrive till April. I took a fabric swatch of the dress (requested from the store when I ordered it) to the lady who’s making the veil and she was able to match it to her fabrics easily. Apparantly tulle only comes in white, ivory or diamond white anyway.

She said she can make the veil in a couple weeks but she’d have to order the lace in advance depending on which lace edging I choose for a mantilla. I’ll probably pick and order in a couple weeks.

I would wait.  Also wanted to put in a plug for haircomesthebride.com, since I got my comb from then, and they had a fast turn-around time.

Most stores have veils aleady in stock for you to try on with your dress when it comes in, but with that said there are places that do custom work that may take longer once you have decided what you want.  My suggestion, start looking for things that may interest you, for example, a birdcage veil vs. a  traditional veil.  Ty a site that has a bunch of different options just to get a taste of what’s out there since most dress companies don’t show a veil with a dress.  Some examples are here..   http://www.mariellonline.com/index.php/catalog/category/bridal-veils_feather_fascinators/

Hello! I am an Etsy seller, I am not sure if you are still looking for your veil. I usually have the veils ready within 1 week of placing your order. like all the other bride stores, i also carry white, diamond white and ivory!
