Im SO ready to get started on a wedding project! LOL. My best friend is going to take our enagement pics soon b/c there is a GORGEOUS park here where all the flowers are in full bloom. I figured I would use one or a few of them for my save the dates. When should I sent the Save the Dates? We are now looking at May 9, 2015. How soon is too soon to send them? The wedding will most likely be an hour 15 minutes away from home.

we sent ours 6 months before the wedding, because everyone already knew. about 95% of our guests will be traveling over 100 miles for the wedding, so we probably should have sent them earlier. but that just didn’t happen.
if your wedding is in may, you have two options. early november- that way, they won’t get mixed up with holiday cards. or mid-january, for the same reason.

We are planning on 6 months before. Most guests are fairly local, or at least known lots of local family members. The wedding is in Feb, so we took our pictures for them last week, and are sending the Save-The-Date Cards out in August. I think 6-8 months is normal for a non-destination wedding. If I were you I would be careful about sending them around Christmas and get them out in early November!

my guests are a similar distance from you. i have a 17 month engagement so i was anxious too! i sent mine out in november 2013 for october 2014 wedding, no regrets. and no one said anthing about “too early”. i dont see the point in StDs if you’re sending them just before the invites anyways! so you go right ahead and send whenever 🙂
