We sent our invites out as soon as the gifts were received.  Mine weren’t fancy nice cards.  If you are going to be making ones with pictures or something, you can send these people another afterward to thank them for coming to the wedding.

I’m in the same boat. I jsut got our “nice” Thank You cards in, but wanted to stay on top of the game too. So I DIY-d some cards with a stamp to fill the void. It’s been nice to have a handle on them as we begin to get more gifts closer to the wedding!  I think you’re just fins in using Target cards– it’s the thought and action of sending the card that really matters.

I did mine as soon as we got a gift. I’m so glad I did because we had 220 guests so you can imagine the amount of cards we had to write.  I did about 100 pre-wedding and then another 80 after the wedding. I still have 15 to go but I’m waiting on those because the gift hasn’t arrived yet. They do a group gift and it is coming in sometime soon.

I think if you wait it will just seem more of a task later when you have all of them to do at once.  Besides, no one will care how nice the cards themselves are as long as they get one.

we actually waited until after our wedding and just sent out all our thank yous at once. it didn’t seem too overwhelming to wait (we had about 100 guests). it was also a chance to spend the evenings together without other distractions.

I’m becoming very impatient, our wedding was almost two weeks ago and I feel like people will think were being snooty by not sending thank yous yet, but thank you postcards were part of our photography package, so we really want to hold off and use them.
