Ok, I have written this 3 times because I keep hitting “Write a Post” rather than “Submit”. Urg…
How soon do I need to start alterations? I have been told it is a process and especially with such a detailed dress as mine. I need it hemmed, bustled (the royal train is gonna be a b!tch!) and possibly let out (It was a sample that I could only get in the size under mine). I am also considering getting the halter altered into lace cap sleeves instead and some beading will need to be taken out from under the arm so I don’t end up with dress burn on my arms halfway through the night. I have my shoes. I shoudn’t be getting any bigger but if my body ever realizes I am eating right and excersizing I will actually get smaller. But even still, I might have to have it let out. My big hips will demand it. My wedding is in almost 5 months and in all honesty I would really just like my dress to actually fit me! And besides, I am always up for an excuse to put it on!
Second question, how do I go about finding a seamstress? DO I just go into the shops with my dress, get a quote, and move on to the next until I find one I like? Before it gets brought up, I will NOT be using the store where I bought my dress. The women there are not the kind I like/trust/want to be around any more than possible.
So when and how?
