I’m getting married in May 2011 and I went shopping in March 2010. Honestly, I went shopping pretty early. I’d say 8-10 months out is a good time.

Most of my friends went 10-12 months before…but I think it is never to early to start looking online!

I would online shop for now and start looking in-person/trying on gowns in May 2011.

I picked my dress too early and ended up switching it a month before the wedding- buyer’s remorse.  You’ll get a lot of ideas between now and then so make sure you are ready to commit to the dress when you do.

I would say October -November 2011 is a good time to start shopping

My wedding is May of 2011 and I just found the dress I want yesterday! They said normally it needs to be ordered 6 months in advance but for $100 extra they can get it in time for alterations and things. I would say though October or November would be fine. I know a lot of people go sooner though.

I bought my dress in August of this year and did some preliminary shopping last year. If you are likely to change your mind about things then shop later. It helps to go to some sample sales though just to get an idea of what dresses look good on you and also put your name down on their mailing lists so you know when the sales are. you

I don’t think there’s really a bad time to shop for your dress, unless you’re the type that might change your mind.  My wedding is March 23, 2012, and I bought my dress in October.  I bought it very early, but I had an idea of what I wanted from looking online, and I have no doubt that it’s the one.  Even seeing everyones dresses here on the Bee, I am still very much in love with mine.  I’m really glad I did too, because it’s a Sottero & Midgley that they no longer have on the website.  If you worry that you might keep looking and second guess your choice, then I’d wait until at least May.  If you’re going to wait, at least start your online browsing 🙂

I am getting married in September 2011 and I already have my dress, I started shopping in August, and bought my dress in November. I didnt look very seriously until November but I think its better to start early because you can be relaxed and not worry about “having to find one now!!!”

Good Luck!!
