My FH popped the question in January- I may have waited a month or two and then the dress search was on! I think I looked at every single dress on the internet and new what I liked and didn’t like before I even tried anything on!
I fell in love with "The Dress" before I tried it on. I would be at the gym focusing on what I wanted to look like in this dress before I even knew how it looked on me now! I had to track it down since it’s a new style and I finally found it in Long Island a good 1 hour away! I made an appointment for a few other salons before I went to see "The Dress" so at least I had something to compare it to!
My mom lives in NC, my MOH has a baby and it was short notice so I went to the salon by myself. I tried it on first and then tried on a few more- but I kept going back to "The Dress", finally I put it on again walked out to the showroom, and the saleswoman gave me a necklace and a veil- I started tearing up and I just knew it was the one!
I know everyone says that you just know- and I understand that concept as I explained above-but I think it’s more that you know you can stop looking! There are soooo many dresses out there and its so easy to think that there may be something better out there but when your mind is constantly floating back to that one thats when you really know!
So needless to say my mom’s coming up and I am going to buy my dress next friday- which of course I think is pretty cool since I am getting married on 9-10-10 and buying my dress on 10-9-09 lol! Cheesy I know…..
How did you know when your dress was your dress? How many did you try on?

I was actually just like you – fell in love with a dress before I even started trying dresses on. Then, when I actually did try it on I KNEW it was the one I had to have. I tried on a ton of other dresses and looked online forever just to be sure, but I finally did it – ordered the dress today!

I love the dress! I was like that, too. I knew what I wanted before trying any one. Then, every dress I tried on just made me more sure that I wanted the one I had seen online. Congrats on finding the ONE.

I got engaged in Feb. I went to try dresses on like 3 weeks after i got engaged because it took me like 3 months to find my prom dress, so i just assumed that it would take me like 9 to find my wedding dress. I tried on 2 dresses. I just knew. My mom and MOH were with me and all 3 of us were crying. The sales woman even teared up. Also when everyone that was there with other girls came over to tell me how beautiful I looked, thats how I knew.

your dress is insanely beautiful!!!
however, for ME – I didn’t have the “just know” moment. I love my dress – don’t get me wrong – and it’s totally “me” but I had my ideas of something completely different than what I ended up choosing. When I put it on, I knew it was the one I wanted – but it wasn’t the “one” I’d been dreaming of.
anywhoo – that’s just me. I really think it’s cool that you did have that feeling and that you found the dress you’d always dreamed of. 🙂

I love that dress. I knew what I wanted before I went shopping. I made sure that I tried on a lot of different styles but when I tried on my dress I *knew* it was the one. I was very happy that the one I loved in pictures looked good on me.
