@ajillity81:  +1 I actually wait until AF is due. It avoids speculation and seeing negatives can get to be a drag (worse than AF) after a while!

@confusedbridehere:  I’d wait until AF is due and use a First Response (pink dye test).

Yeah, if you’re going to test early, I’d wait until at least 10-12 DPO. Even then, it can be hard to get a BFP on a pink test. But really, they say 18 DPO. I’d be 3-4 days late at 18 DPO so that would never happen. haha

I tested three days before AF was due, and it BARELY showed a positive!

@confusedbridehere:  I got my  BFP on 10DPO. It was light but still there on the FRER. I wouldn’t test any sooner than that.

@confusedbridehere:  If you can hold out, I would wait until about 14DPO, or your missed period (whichever comes first). And right, First Response Early Result is the one most of us prefer, but many of us also look to confirm with a Clear Blue Digital (which is not as sensitive and wouldn’t show positive as soon as the FRER).

I tested the day after my missed period and got a negative, then got a bfp 3 days later! I would wait until after a missed period to avoid wasting tests.

I waited until about 14 dpo, and my period was maybe 2 days late? Hard to know since my cycles varies in length. I was so glad I waited because I was sick of wasting tests and seeing BFN, and my BFP was SUPER dark, it was awesome! But now I’m wondering how early I could’ve tested…. 🙂

When you TTC, your missed period date could actually not be your missed period date…your cycle lengths can change +/- greatly especially with TTC…

so I usually don’t go by that…

Why do you want to test asap? Are you some special diet and want to break some rules, etc?

I suggest don’t test if possible. It’s a waste of money/time/emotions. When AF is due and doesn’t show wait abt 2 days or so to make sure AF wasn’t just late. Then test.
