You've seen your Vijayjay? I lost mine over 3 weeks ago, lol.

So how do you keep yourself well groomed even though you can't see her anymore? Right now, I have been using this shaver I got that has a regular shaver on one end and clippers on the other. With the clippers, I just go all over the place hoping it looks half decent when it is done.

Also, any tips or tricks for shaving your legs? I can still lift my legs in the shower but soon that will end.

Please help a Mama out! :)

oh, HAHAHAHAHA i had no idea what i was getting into when i opened this post. Sometimes I don't read the category below the title of the post.

I get a feeling most moms to be just let it all go....

I'd probably hit up a salon (is that weird? it sounds normal in my no-baby head) and get my legs waxed and get the bikini area done.

Do they make long handle type thingies for your razor? So you can sit on the ledge and reach your legs? If not, there needs to be an invention =]

@ejs - I think you may be on to something. Let me know when you create it! I will be your first victim (er...tester)  :)

I wonder how many people are going to venture into this post and either be disgusted or laugh.

Maybe a little bit of both? I'm mortified by the idea of letting things go in that aspect (no shaving? ACK!), but on the other hand i shrug and say if you can't reach, you can't reach! Not like your obgyn cares.

Oh yes, you can shave your legs!

But maybe this is best left to the professionals....=]

Funny enough: i typed in "long razor, pregnancy" into google to find that razor and up popped this: http://pregnancyandbaby.com/everything-pregnancy-questions/how-can-i-shave-down-there-during-pregnancy/ Apparently you are not alone RoddyBride!

@ejs - I started laughing at what the women were doing. I am glad I am not alone or I have some serious problems. I think I will need to get a mirror!

Ha ha!  After a while I think I lost the will the fight for it.  So I lost her for a while.  But she came back after the baby was born.

And I could barely shave my legs.  Bending over gets hard at the end too.  Can't see your feets too well either.  I rember how bad I hated it if Idropped something in the shower.  ugg.

Yeah.... I plan on getting waxed in a few weeks, that should take care of things for a while. I tried shaving yesterday and it was next to impossible, but I hate getting my legs waxed so that's a no go. I've noticed that my hair is hardly growing back anyway so it's no biggie.

I went to see Ralphie May (the comedian), and his wife was his opening act.  She mentioned that she had him shave her when she was pregnant.  Then after the baby, when it grew back, she realized he only shaved the front, so she ended up giving birth with a mullet.

Lol! Ummmmm, I lost the ability to see below my belly like a month ago.  My husband said he doesn't care too much, so I cut down my grooming by like half.  :) When I do shave, I sit on the floor of the shower because I can't reach my legs otherwise!

Wow, no way would I let my husband near my crotch with a razor. THAT is for a professional. That woman must've been desperate!

I wax (now sugar) the girlie area, and still have no problem shaving my legs if I prop my foot up on the side of the tub.  I want things to be tidy and "in order" for delivery and recovery, so I'll be doing maintainence the whole time.

LOL! I was just reading last week that a lot of women in Brazil are induced or have a c-section, so they schedule some time grooming before the delivery! They get a wax and have their hair and makeup professionally done. Sounds very fashionable, although I would not want to be induced or have a c-section.

    @lillindy I second that!!!

I guess I'll probably just shave but less often as it becomes harder...but still keep myself neat. I also like to go get waxed every so often...so I'll probably keep that up as well.

I honestly never would have asked myself this question until I read this thread! Must be because I'm not preggers. I'll admit though that my natural tendency is towards lazy. My body hair (eyebrows, arms, legs, etc.) is all nautrally white blond. Its near impossible to see against my ghost pale flesh, so I tend to let things go a bit more wild then most women (except for my pits, ugh. Hair there is so gross to me!). Frankly, once I lose the ability to see below my waist I'm probably going to stop caring how it looks. I doubt most people will be able to see it anyhow (and my FI probably won't care).

I am so hairy, in the darkest, thickest, coarsest way, and I have actually thought about this on many occasions, even though I've never been pregnant, come close, wanted to be, whatever!  I definitely do not want a jungle down there (and it would be one heck of a jungle) when I give birth, though I plan to have a C-section (I was born by a necessary c-section--mom was in labor for three days--and she highly recommended it! Said she was so glad she never had to push, labor was bad enough), because I'll be damned if anything ever rips my ladybits apart or even stretches them out a lot.  I actually trust FI with a razor, so I may just have to set him up to the task, heh.

@rabbit...lucky you! my arm hair is white toe-head blonde so that is always fine (yayyyY!!!! lol) and the rest of my hair used to be that way...I was a blondie as a child...but now it is all naturally a medium brown so that means upkeep! ;)

@Sulli301- Yeah, its funny because I was born with white blond hair on my head, but just like everyone in my mom's and dad's family, the older I get the darker brown my hair gets. That's only my head hair though, from the hairline down I'm still a natural white-blond! Heh. I'm not sure what I would do if it darkened one day- probably freak out and realize I have to shave more then 4-6 times a year! Us blondies are lucky! :)

The only reason (besides price) that would make me not want to get laser hair removal down there is thinking about being an old lady and having people help me bathe, etc.  I know I probably won't care at that point...but what if I want a little "coverage"?  haha...ok, weird thought maybe!

OMG heathah I just died laughing.  That was a LAUGH.OUT.LOUD!!!

Roddy: so funny I saw this I was JUST thinking the same thing and wondering if I should post on WB.  Thank you for having the courage to do what I couldn't!  I realized last weekend that I hadn't seen Miss Kitty in quite. a. while. and I took a looksie with a mirror.  I had the razor out IMMEDIATELY.  LOL.

Also as far as shaving my legs, I actually tried that too!  Only because of my extreme baby brain, I shaved the SAME LEG TWICE.  I have no idea how I managed not to notice until my OB appt but I was QUITE amused with myself!

I would SO NOT GET WAXED down there right now.  This far along, all the blood vessels are enlarged, it's kinda swollen, and that's just ASKING for pain and swelling and bleeding and PAIN.  LOL.  Not even going to think about it.  If the time comes that I can't reach, I'll just have to go Amazon!

It is also getting harder for me. I swear my belly has doubled in size in the last 2 weeks.  I am around the five month mark.

I'm not a waxer, the pain scares me to much.  My sister started using an emjoi gently after giving birth to her first child, she said that after childbirth, no pain could match it.  But personally I tried that thing both before and after childbirth and the pain of having each indivudual hair ripped out one by one is just as bad after as it was before.

Shaving my legs isn't to bad because we have a seperate bath and shower in our bathroom, so I am able to sit on the side of the bath to shave my legs.  But when pregnant with my first child, I only had a shower in the bathroom where we were living, so in the end I put one of those plastic patio chairs in my shower so I could sit down and went for it with my foot resting up against the tiled wall.  Easy Peesy.

As for the part other, I did my best to keep myself groomed, but in the end as long as I was presentable for the outside world, I was happy enough.

@Mighty - I went back and forth on this topic on whether it would skeeve people out but in the end I really wanted suggestions which meant more than my temporary embarrassment. It is funny when you think about it though. Besides having a mirror there is no way around seeing the Mrs. Moving my belly just doesn't work.

This is the time that I wish I had a combo tub + shower so that I could easily shave my legs. Unfortunately, it is a shower only and it is small. If only you can see me attempt this. Imagine me with my 26 week belly, holding up one leg with my hand and my foot attempting to rest on the corner of the wall as I shave. Yup, that's me. I know it isn't a perfect shave either cause I can't hold my leg up that long, lol...

Also, I am one who will also not get waxed. I am not one for voluntary pain like that, especially since things are so sensitive there even now. Ingrown hairs on the bikini line hurt like heck and they bleed so I will pass with the waxing. I think I may just stick to my clipper/shaver. :)
