I've been working on the upcoming calendar of events at work, and have been planning a lot of our fall programs. On a regular basis I stop to think "I'll be married at that program" or "When I introduce myself at that program, I'll have a different last name."
The only one I've really had so far was when we went to buy my wedding band. I can't wait to see it, since I haven't actually seen it in person yet, but I'm sure trying that on to make sure it's the right size will do it. :)
It was buying the wedding bands for me, too. I don't know if my fiance felt the same way, but I'll admit that for a few days after I brought mine home, I wore it on and off around the apartment :)
I've had a couple so far, one of them, it was a good thing I was sitting down or I would have fallen over (and I was at work, would have been interesting). I imagine there will be more.
I think mine was at about 4 months, too! At least, that was the first one. Now that we're only a month out, I'm thinking I'll be getting them more often (e.g. during the showers, last dress fitting, rehearsal, etc...).
I consistantly have them. I think when I step away from the brainstorming and think about why it's all happening then I start to get excited (and a little nervous). I usually send a funny email to my mom or fiance that just says, "OMG! we're getting married!" And they laugh at me. I wonder if guys go through this, or if they've gone through it all by the time they propose?
My moment was, when he walked me into Tiffanys to size my finger, and I had the ring on (for the first time ever) and I was like WOAH I LOVE HAVING A RING!
He used his own jeweler, but we tried on lots of stuff to see what we like the most.
For me it was in the dressing room with my girls helping me get into my dress..thats when it FINALLY hit me and I had a small panic attack! I made it down the aisle though and it was amazing!
I've had little ones. But I've started calling him my husband to be (in private) and that gets me every time!! And then if I really start thinking about becoming a wife- that gets my heart racing.
i didn't have that feeling until a few hours before the wedding while I was getting my nails done. I was alone with the manicurist and it all just hit me and i got all nervous! and WOW WOW- this is HAPPENING!!
:)
I just had another one, reading all of yours! I'M GETTING MARRIED!!!!!!!!
I would have to say last saturday. It was like, "omgosh its two weeks from today ! There's so much to do!" ![]()
I had my ohmygosh moment during the rehearsal. I got a little nervous that it was actually going to happen...
I'm with tripps! I don't think it really "hit" me until the day of the rehearsal. I couldn't believe that my wedding day was almost here....I thought I needed to pinch myself a few times. The momentum builds and builds for that day....and suddenly, it's upon you.
Very overwhelming!
I still have a year, but I had a moment like that a few weeks ago when my mom reminded me that this was the last spring I'd be unmarried. I did a double take and thought, "Oh. My. God." It was a little thing but it's strange to think- this time next year, I'll be a wife. I'll have a husband. I'll be a Mrs.
WEIRD!
Mine was when we started receiving reply cards in the mail. That's when it ifnally hit me--We ARE getting married and people are going to come and see it! :)
I had that moment when it hit 6 months to the day. I had another moment today because it's officially 4 months to the day, my invites are at the printer, and I realize I still have sooo much to do! I predict these moments will be coming with more and more frequency ;).
For me it was when we sent the invites. It was the "no going back now!" moment anyway lol I was actually kind of nervous to order them because I can't afford to order a new set if something were to change. It put our date in stone (well, cardstock xD). I'm sure I'll be hit with it again as it continues to get closer.
Our venue allows us a 100% refund on our deposit up to six months before the wedding date. My first "this is really real" moment happened the day AFTER our deposit became permanent. That's when I knew the wedding was actually happening!

I've had waves of "ohmigoshthisisreallyhappening" since we got engaged... but for some reason 4 months was my "Go Time" or "Cripes Here it comes" time... (Excitement mixed with fear mixed with more excitement and various other emotions).
What set that feeling off for you? Was it sending invitations? Was it a number (99 days)? Or other time frame (4 months) or a comment you got (boy you must be getting stressed)?
