For me, I had that moment on my wedding day right after my MOH, bridesmaids, mom, and MIL finished helping me get all dressed. There’s a really cute moment in our wedding video that shows me, all dressed up, clutching my grandmother’s pearls saying “Holy shit!  I’m getting married!”  I was super cute.

I was like you..totally calm about everything, very excited to be marrying my husband. I thought I’d have that moment at our rehearsal but it didn’t happen. I just rolled with it.

You’ll have that moment. On the wedding day, everything is just so exciting and fun. You will have an amazing day!

I’m also getting married on Saturday, and it really hasn’t hit me yet.  I’m sure it won’t happen until after the 8 hour drive on Wednesday (we live far away from everyone else) and I’m home getting stuff ready.   But honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if it wasn’t until Saturday, I’m generally pretty calm.

@june2013bride:  My moment was standing in the stairwell in the back of the church, right before my bridesmaids walked down the aisle. My dad took my arm, gestured to the door and said “It’s not to late to run for it!” Of course he was joking, but that was when it hit me.

I think I was probably too busy doing the wedding planning before the actual day to really stop and think about it, until the eleventh hour when everything was coming together.

When my dad called me the morning of the wedding to say basically that he was really proud of the person I’ve become but a little worried because he felt like he didn’t know me as a person, but just as his little girl. Then he cried and I cried. That was when shit got real. And then my MOH, who had spent the night at my house, walked in and pointed out that even though shit had just gotten real, I still had to get my butt in the shower so we could get to the venue on time. lol.

Then I was pretty much fine until I got back from the honeymoon and people started asking about my husband, and every time that happens I still go “Oh my god! I have a husband! I’m a wife! THAT IS SO WEIRD!!!!” Like, I can accept that I’m married. That’s easy. But for some reason the “husband” and “wife” names are really hard for me to remember and make everything seem really real!

@june2013bride:  I definitely had that moment the morning after the wedding when we were having room service on the balcony at our minimoon hotel. There was a wedding happening that day and it was such a surreal moment for both of us knowing we were married. It honestly felt like we floated through our wedding and it was just a fantastic dream.

@distracts:  Yes, I totally agree on the ‘husband’ and ‘wife’ thing. I’m not married yet, but on the very rare occasion that the terms come up it suddenly feels so real!

@june2013bride:

@SweetFlower:  Same here girls! Getting married this Saturday and am feeling pretty awesome about it, but chill. I even got a big Rash on my face from an allergic reaction to fake eyelashes, and DIDN’T EVEN FREAK OUT!  It’s almost gone. I think it will be good by Saturday.

But yes, the calm thing… are we in for a big upsetting, stomach turning, happy, scared, explosion of feeings when we wake up Saturday morning?!

Guess we will find out soon enough… Hope your weddings are amazing!
