this is my first pregnancy, so I can't speak from experience. But I've read and heard that generally your hormones start to level off around the 2nd trimester and that's when a lot of woman start to feel better. I'm sure you knew that much already. But, my cousin is due at the end of december and she said she had it for about the first 3 1/2-4 months. And then my other cousin barely had it at all. So I think it can vary a lot from person to person. But I hope it gets better for you soon though! :)
I hope it gets better for you soon! My memory is a little foggy, but I think I started feeling much better by week 18; I had morning sickness for an unusually long period of time, though.
@sunny-day73: Yeah, I know it's supposed to start going away around the end of the 1st trimester. But I'm a numbers person, so I really want to know what the "average" experience is along with a worst case scenario. My aunt told me that she had morning sickness for her entire pregnancy. I'm just choosing to ignore that...
@skibobrown: "i'm choosing to ignore that" - Love it!
Not pregnant yet, so I have nothing to add. But I would also prefer to ignore anything that I don't want to hear - just give me the feedback that says I'll feel better tomorrow!
With my second I had MS until atleast my 16th week if not longer. When you hear the "it's only suppose to last until the 12th week so you should be over it soon" it really did nothing to reassure me or make me feel better. Some people they wake up one day and it just stops, others its a gradual process of going away. I hope your doesn't last too much longer:)
Im on week 9 and on zofran.. and also the same as you. I still puke here and there though :(. Im counting down to week 12-13 so when i hear week 16, week 18... it really makes me cringe :(
My morning sickness left at 10 weeks. But my migraines stayed until the middle of my second trimester.
Hope you feel better soon!
It really used to upset when me when people would say, "Oh, you're 12 weeks. You should be feeling better any day!" And then it lasted a couple more months. Grrrrrrr.
One thing I'll suggest is that if you are so nauseous you're having issues functioning or if you're taking medications and still pretty miserable, you may want to talk to your doctor about combining medications (a B6/Unisom and Zofran combo work for many women) or upping your dosage. I've heard many women say their morning sickness peaked at 8-10 weeks, so you guys are probably experiencing the worst of it right now.
I had nausea all along in the 1st trimester, but it didn't actually cause any sickness until 11.5 weeks. (I thought I had totally dodged the bullet with the puking thing because I figured for sure it would've started by then... I was wrong.) It lasted until 16 weeks, at which point it felt like a switch had been flipped and the nausea went away completely.
I'm in my 2nd trimester with my first pregnancy and I felt awful the whole 1st trimester. All I wanted to do was sleep and I was constantly hungry and weak since I didn't feel like eating. It didn't go away all at once but near the end of the trimester I gradually started feeling better. Hopefully you'll feel better soon...
I so hope I'm one of those that feels suddenly better at 12 weeks. I'm at 10.5 and have been horribly sick with all day nausea since 5.5. I thought I had also dodged the puking bullet, but my morning sickness actually got worse at about week 9 and I started throwing up. I also choose to ignore the ones that tell me they were sick the whole time because right now, that seems too insurmountable! I hope we all feel better soon!

I'm currently 10 weeks, and my "morning" sickness is showing absolutely no signs of letting up. In fact, it may actually be getting worse. I'm on Zofran to manage the nausea, and while it does help me to keep my food down, I spend all day gagging and not wanting to eat anything. Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled that this has been a healthy pregnancy so far, but I am so ready for this phase to end. So ladies who have been through this before, when did you start feeling better? (And also, when did the nausea completely go away, if those two things happened at different times?) I really want to know how many more weeks of this I should expect.
