im having a destination wedding next march, but not sending STD cards, so i allready order my invitations, and i will send them the last week of january so they can get the invitation 1 month before my wedding
@souliganprincess: I am getting married 6/4/2011 and I plan on sending out STD's the 1st week of Dec and invites the first week in Feb.
I am sending out Save the Dates the first week of November and invites will be sent out in mid-March. This way I avoid holiday mail. Plus, I don't want to send invites too early. I think 8 weeks before the date is the norm...but I could be wrong.
I sent my STDs out already as I have quite a few out of town guests that will be coming.

@jdamian - we have the same wedding day - are you having a destination wedding or just sending out your invites early? I thought sending mine early March was a bit ahead of some check lists online i have seen. However I would like to send them as early as possible to get an idea of who is actually going to attend.
i'm sending out save the dates within the next 2 weeks. ordering invites in December, and sending them out 8 weeks before because my caterer has an early count deadline so they need more time to send in rsvp's early.
I sent my STDs out the last week of May. We are doing a destination, so I wanted everyone to have at least a year to plan. I plan to mail our invites the first week of January 2011. I need a headcount by 4/1 since we have to pay the first half of the reception by 4/15. I know I am doing things way ahead of time compared to most, but with a destination wedding I feel it's necessary.
I'm sending our invitations out the first or second week of March. I have them already, but I still need to assemble everything.
Depends on when our invitations are ready (they're coming from America!) - I'm hoping for mid-late March, because the RSVP cards are printed as a response needed back by May 1st! (Our venue is super strict on numbers.)
I wont have my invitations back March then I am sending them out the second week in March
We are resending ours April 11th. This will give the post office 1 week to deliver the invite and will give our guests 2 months advanced notice to determine their intent to come. This seems like plenty of time to us!
I just picked up the pieces to my invitation suite today. Now it's time for assembly, yay! NOT
I ordered mine last week and they went to print this weekend. We should have them by the end of March and they are being sent out the first days of April.
I just got a sample form an etsy seller. I LOVE them, so will order them this weekend. Once they're here, I'll probably send them early in April. My guests already have Save the Dates from December, so I just need to have RSVP cards back by mid to late May.
Can't believe how close it's getting.
I procrastinated and sent my save the dates out on Feb. 1st. Somewhere I read that 4-6 months was the norm but after I sent them out, everywhere else said 6-12 months!
I'm sending my invitations out on March 25th.
just got my invites from the printer last week and will be sending mine out the first week in March. :) Excited!
Just got all of our elements from the printer as well as the materials we needed to assemble. We are addressing them this weekend. and I hope to get them out the first week in March! Now if only my FMIL would get me the rest of her addresses (!)
