only once have we let a fight drag on overnight.  It was awful – we swore we’d never do it again.   And we haven’t.

We don’t usually let anything go overnight but it’s happened a few times. Usually by the time we wake up he’s ready to talk and so am I.

@vmec:  sorry.  Didn’t realize I wasn’t helping.

I’d apologize immediately.  I would not wait.  I would do it right away.

No, so far we haven’t done that and I hope we never will.  We get along really well so there usually isn’t anything to argue about anyway.  We resolve our disagreements quickly so we can get back to being the deliriously-happy-to-be-with-each-other selves we always are.

Edit:  Ditto what GroovyHippieChick said.  I would apologize right away.

@vmec:  I don’t wait. I say it immediately either over text or IM … and then when I get home, I say it again.

We, meaning me, apologize whenever we finally let go of whatever we’re mad about. For example we got into a massive fight on valentines day, one of the worst we’ve had, and I left for work. About two hours into work I realized how stupid it was that we got into such a big fight and I text him and asked if we were really going to fight on valentines and how sorry I was for reacting the way I did. He called me and we made up. We do our best at not letting our fights get drawn out but it does happen every now and then. I would rather be the bigger person and apologize so that we can go on our happy way then to just sit and hold a grudge(which I am realllllly good at doing).

@vmec:  yep.  Phone call. Text.  Skype. Email.  Video.  Smoke signals.   Carrier pigeon.

whatever it takes Wink.  If face to face means you have to wait until you get home – nope.  I’d do it sooner.

Oh, sorry. I misread the post.

I would apologize even if it meant calling or texting and then we I got home I’d apologize again.

@vmec:  well, you can only control your actions, not his.  Do what you need to do to feel better about the situation.

@vmec:  the important thing is that you own up to any wrongs you did. He’ll see that and hopefully own up to his. But even if he doesnt, you need to let it go (if it’s something small). I totally get anxious if I for some reason can’t talk to him and have to wait all day, I am so scared of how it will be when I get home. and its usually super awkward, walking around not talking to each other. I have to get it off my chest the second i’m ready or I’ll talk myself out of it.
