This one is for all the ladies out there who aren’t sure if you’ll KNOW if it’s your dress. I’ve always, always, always (emphasis on ALWAYS) hated trying on clothing. What’s worse than those hot stores, terrible lights and cranky employees, can I get an amen! This weekend I went in search of what I thought was THE dress – Mori Lee 1960. It was not the dress. I felt totally underwhelmed and upset. My momma suggested we head to a new salon for a new experience, I reluctantly agreed. On the ride over I asked “when do you know? does everyone cry?” – mom had no idea. She tried on 1 dress (40 years ago) and bought it. She said I’d just feel it, I might cry and I might not. I’m one of those “all or nothing” type people so given previous experiences with clothing shopping, I figured I’d pick the one I hated the least and just go with it.
We walked into the salon and pulled a few dresses and headed for the dressing room. The 1st dress was ok…not great. The 2nd dress I tried on hadn’t even been zipped when the water works started. THIS WAS IT! I didn’t want to take it off, I felt like a million bucks.
Bees…when you know, you know. I sat in the sample for over an hour. I didn’t want to take it off and I spent all night laying in bed seeing it whenever my eyes closed. I do not have to look anymore…my beautiful Maggie Sottero “Camden” dress (sans halter) is what I’ll be wearing when I marry my fella. I’m big into naming things (my car is Anderson Cooper) so what should I call this fantastic piece of art?
