ok – question. when you or your SO is in a funk / having a bad day and it’s NOT the other’s fault – is it too much to ask to just say “hey, babe, I’m just in a funk and need to be left alone” period.
thing is – when my husband gets into a funk – whether he means to or not – he sorta lashes out – even though it’s NOT me at all whatsoever – he tends to take it out on me and then he gets mad when I ask him “what’s wrong”…I just had a talk with him (cuz he was in a funk today) and told him, I will stop asking him “what’s wrong” and try to get him to open up when he’s having a day like today if ALL he can do is just say “hey, i’m just having a bad day – let’s leave it at that”.
and I WOULD leave him alone. I understand bad days. course he thinks I should just “pick up on” him having a bad day and should know it’s not me…but when he takes it out ON me – how am I supposed to know? And when I say “take it out on me” I mean he just becomes annoyed with little things that I do.
So again – I asked him “fine then just say, ‘babe, it’s not you, honestly, i’m just having a bad day'”…
I mean – really HOW am I supposed to know that that’s ALL it is when your mood turns on me and makes me feel like you ARE mad at me?
ugh. anyone else?
